Mr. Adam Holloway (Gravesham) (Con): What discussions he has had with the Secretary of State for Business, Enterprise and Regulatory Reform on the environmental impact of the proposed new coal power station at Kingsnorth. [210302]

The Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Hilary Benn): I regularly discuss energy policy with my right hon. Friend the Secretary of State for Business, Enterprise and Regulatory Reform, but the decision on Kingsnorth will be for him to make, and I cannot comment on what he might decide, for reasons that I know the hon. Gentleman will understand. The environmental impact assessment is an important part of the process.

Mr. Holloway: But does not the Secretary of State think that that undermines any policy commitments to low-carbon technology?

Hilary Benn: I simply say that no decision has yet been made on the Kingsnorth application, as the hon. Gentleman will be well aware. We need to develop carbon capture and storage technology across the world, which is why I am sure that he will welcome the fact that the United Kingdom is currently the only European Union country that has a competition on the go to demonstrate that technology on a commercial scale. With China building one new coal-fired power station a week, and with about 8 GW currently in construction in Germany, we need that technology to work, and I am sure that he will welcome the project.

Mr. Brian Jenkins (Tamworth) (Lab): My right hon. Friend will know that carbon capture technology is vital for our long-term future, but will he make sure that all of us in this country recognise that coal is our main indigenous energy source, and that without it, the lights will go out? We cannot ever have that happen.

Hilary Benn: Coal is currently responsible for a significant proportion of our electricity supply, and certainly a very large proportion of lights around the world are kept burning because of coal. That makes the point that if we are to make progress in reducing global emissions, we have to make progress on significantly decarbonising electricity production from coal. That is why the technology that we are talking about is needed.

Martin Horwood (Cheltenham) (LD): Surely this goes to the heart of joined-up Government thinking on climate change. Given that the right hon. Gentleman’s fellow Secretary of State resisted amendments to the recent Energy Bill to mandate carbon capture and storage for new coal-fired power stations, can the right hon. Gentleman tell us whether DEFRA was consulted before that line was taken on the Energy Bill by his fellow Secretary of State? If the right hon. Gentleman was consulted, what did he tell the Department for Business, Enterprise and Regulatory Reform?

Hilary Benn: Nobody has yet been able to make carbon capture and storage technology work on a commercial scale. What is the sensible way to proceed? It is to demonstrate that it is possible to do that on a commercial scale. As the Prime Minister said in his speech in November, once that is shown to work, countries will have a decision to make about whether they wish to mandate carbon capture and storage technology, but we have to show it working on a commercial scale. I hope the hon. Gentleman, like other hon. Members, will welcome the fact that the UK is leading on trying to get one of those projects up and running.

Mr. Bill Olner (Nuneaton) (Lab): My right hon. Friend knows, further to the comments of my hon. Friend the Member for Tamworth (Mr. Jenkins), that we have a sea of coal underneath England. We need to exploit it and we need to get back to a better place than where the Tories left us when they closed down all the coalfields. Clean technology is available that can get the coal out of the ground and raise up communities again.

Hilary Benn: I recognise the point that my hon. Friend makes about the depth of feeling in those communities about what happened. The fundamental truth is that the remaining fossil fuels that we have on this earth, whatever form they take, will need to be carefully used in a way that does not add to the problem of global warming. We all understand that that is the case, and finding ways of doing that is the solution to making progress.

Robert Neill (Bromley and Chislehurst) (Con): Does the Secretary of State accept that his answer will cause great concern to many residents in north Kent and in adjoining parts of south-east London, including mine, where there has been a consensus about the need for low-carbon technology and carbon capture in any new power station developments? It seems troubling to them that the Secretary of State has adopted a course that could open the door to development at Kingsnorth without a commitment to that carbon capture, in their backyard.

Hilary Benn: No decision has been taken on Kingsnorth yet, as the hon. Gentleman is well aware. That decision is for my right hon. Friend the Secretary of State for

Business, Enterprise and Regulatory Reform. The point that I have been making to the hon. Gentleman and to the House is that we need to develop carbon capture and storage technology and to show it operating on a commercial scale. That is why we are going ahead with the project.

Mr. Peter Ainsworth (East Surrey) (Con): The Secretary of State mentioned the global context and China, but what message does it send to the world if we on the one hand go around lecturing it about the need to reduce carbon emissions, and on the other teeter on the brink of ushering in the first new unabated coal-fired power station for a generation? Does that not sound like hypocrisy? Is it not fossil politics?

Hilary Benn: I simply say—and I hope the House will bear with me when I say it again—that no decision has been taken yet in relation to Kingsnorth.Gregory Barker (Bexhill and Battle) (Con): Dithering.

Hilary Benn: With great respect to the hon. Gentleman, who intervenes from a sedentary position, first, E.ON itself has asked that no decision be taken while consultation takes place on carbon capture readiness. That will happen in the summer. Secondly, as the hon. Gentleman is aware, E.ON has put the Kingsnorth application into the competition as well. Those, I should have thought, were two things that he would welcome.

Esta operação foi realizada pra chamar atenção sobre a extinção dos pandas, animal emblemático e símbolo do WWF.

Infelizmente, são apenas 1.600 pandas vivos no planeta Terra, número exato de pandas utilizados na ação. Segundo o WWF, as espécies estão enfrentando uma taxa de extinção 1.000 vezes mais rápido do que o normal.

Os pandas que tinham cerca de 43 cm de altura, uma base do tamanho real do animal, foram feitos de papel machê, tinta alimentar e cola de arroz - todos materias que de alguma forma não agridem o meio ambiente.

I realize that yesterday, Sat July 12th, this blog got the least amount of hits (2) in nearly a month.  That shit ain't gonna fly.

And regarding the movie "All In", sigh... I like poker.  This movie made me hate it in one fell swoop.  How could a movie starring the one and only Gunnar Stahl be so unbelievably bad?  The acting is atrocious, the plot is absurd yet predictable, and worst of all it stars Michael Madsen as a terrible Colonel Sanders lookalike.  For those brave enough, watch the trailer.  Man, I just don't get how Gunnar Stahl could go downhill after the greatest scene in movie history.

We lost again last night, we're .500 on the season at 13-13.  We set a new league record with our second triple play of the season.  Both came in games at Keene, both ended with walkoff losses in extra innings.

And on a sidenote, where did the professionalism in press boxes go?  Openly cheering for a team is bush league and is a way for you to openly proclaim "hi, i'm a moron!"  It's a press box.  There are no biases.  You don't clap, you don't yell, and you don't cheer.  That's how it works.  If you want to be a fan, then go be a damn fan.  Don't go into a professional environment in which you do not belong.

Oh and I had lunch at McGillicuddy's the other day.  A McGillicuddy's burger with bacon cheddar and onions and onion rings with a coke.  And I think I was sitting next to Captain Lou Albano. He's really let himself go.  That makes two former WWF stars that I may have seen in one week.

We play Manchester today.  But mother nature has other plans.  She's such a dirty whore.

Διάβασα σήμερα το παρακάτω άρθρο του ΕΛΕΥΘΕΡΙΟΥ ΑΝΕΥΛΑΒΗ στη σελίδα του Zougla.gr και μου προξένησε μεγάλο ενδιαφέρον. Άλλωστε δεν είναι η πρώτη φορά που ο εν λόγω γιατρός μου κινεί το ενδιαφέρον με τα γραπτά και τις απόψεις του! Λέει λοιπόν ο γιατρός:

G8: Μείωση διοξειδίου του άνθρακος μέχρι το 2050. «Τι λέτε ρε μαλάκες» (Τίτος Πατρίκιος)

Και τον επόμενο χρόνο, θα ανακοινώνουν και πάλι μέτρα για τα ίδια προβλήματα που θα εξακολουθούν να υπάρχουν, διότι πέρα από τα φληναφήματα των ανακοινώσεών τους, στρουθοκάμηλοι οι 8G, κάνουν πως δεν βλέπουν, ότι το πρόβλημα των προβλημάτων του κόσμου μας είναι αυτοί οι ίδιοι και οι νεοφιλελεύθερες, ατομοκεντρικές, φιλοτομαριστικές και απάνθρωπες πολιτικές τους.

Εφέτος, στο Toyako της Ιαπωνίας, απεφάσισαν, λέει, να αντιμετωπίσουν το πρόβλημα του θερμοκηπίου με την μείωση της εκπομπής του διοξειδίου του άνθρακος έως το 2050. Χωρίς δέσμευση ούτε για το ποσοστό μείωσης, ούτε για μια μεσοπρόθεσμη συγκεκριμένη μείωση, που θα έδειχνε και τη σοβαρότητα των προθέσεών τους. Απλώς άφησαν το ζήτημα στον πατριωτισμό κάθε χώρας. Ελληνικές καλένδες και ελληνική πρακτική θυμίζει.

Τα ίδια υπόσχονται κάθε χρόνο που ποτέ δεν έχουν μέχρι σήμερα εφαρμόσει. Το ίδιο και με τις υποσχέσεις για δισεκατομμύρια δολάρια για την πεινασμένη Αφρική που υποσχέθηκαν πέρυσι στην ανάλογη σύνοδο κι ακόμα οι πεινασμένοι τα περιμένουν, πεθαίνοντας.

Δεν νοιώθετε ότι μας δουλεύουν;

Αυτοί που έχουν καταντήσει τον πλανήτη χωματερή των πυρηνικών τους και χημικών τους και παντός είδους αφοδευομένων από αυτούς απορριμμάτων, ενδιαφέρονται λέει για το περιβάλλον.

Αυτοί που είναι υπεύθυνοι για το 80% ίσως και περισσότερο εκπομπής διοξειδίου του άνθρακα στον πλανήτη.

Ο Μπους, που έχει αρνηθεί να υπογράψει το πρωτόκολλο του Κιότο, για να μπορεί ανενόχλητος, αυτός ο νήπιος και το στρατιωτικό-βιομηχανικό κατεστημένο που εκπροσωπεί, να βρωμίζουν τον Πλανήτη;

Αυτοί που καταναλώνουν όσα όλος ο άλλος κόσμος μαζί και καμώνονται πως τους «κόφτει» η πείνα που χτυπάει τις πόρτες τους, ενώ εκείνο που φοβούνται πια είναι η εξέγερση των πεινασμένων μέσα στα ίδια τους τα χορτασμένα σπίτια.

Αυτοί που κόπτονται για την οικονομική ύφεση που οι ίδιοι προκαλούν κερδοσκοπώντας στο πετρέλαιο και τα χρηματιστήριά του.

Αυτοί που δεν μπορούν να μοιράσουν «δυο γαϊδάρων άχυρα», γιατί ο καθένας τη δική του «πάρτη» μόνο κοιτάει, γιατί αυτός είναι ο κανόνας της άγριας, ασύδοτης, νεοφιλελεύθερης «ελεύθερης» αγοράς.

Για ποια και ποιων Ενωμένη Ευρώπη μιλάμε;

Αχ γιατρέ μου! Από που ν' αρχίσεις και που να τελειώσεις με δάυτους! Οι αρχικαταστροφείς του πλανήτη. Τα αρχιλαμόγια. Που αν ανατρέξουμε στο παρελθόν, ο Hitler έμοιαζε απλά ένα "κακομαθημένο παλιόπαιδο" μπροστά τους!

Ε και λοιπόν; Τι έγινε δηλαδή τώρα; Συναντήθηκαν καλά καλά... έφαγαν...ήπιαν και αμόλυσαν άλλη μία παπαριά παγκόσμιας εμβέλειας! "Να...έτσι για να δείτε ότι εμείς δεν αφήνουμε τον πλανήτη στην τύχη του, ασχέτως αν του γαμάμε ότι έχει και δεν έχει στο βωμό των συμφερόντων μας!"

Ξέρεις τι έχω διδαχθεί με το πέρασμα των χρόνων γιατρέ μου; Πως ότι οδεύει προς την καταστροφή...μόνο με μία άλλη καταστροφή διασώζεται συνήθως! Γνωρίζεις καλύτερα από μένα ότι μόνο οι τεράστιες εξεγέρσεις, οι αποφασιστικές κινήσεις, οι επαναστάσεις των λαών, οι μεγάλες θυσίες, ίσως να φέρουν αποτέλεσματα σε τόσο κρίσιμες στιγμές! Αλλιώς δεν μας σώζει τίποτα. Μην περιμένεις κάτι διαφορετικό! Τι δηλαδή; Να σηκωθεί ένα ωραίο πρωί ο Μπους-της Αμερικής που λέει και ο Λαζόπουλος ή ο Ομπάμα αν προτιμάς ή οποιοσδήποτε άλλος σκερβελές και να πει... "ρε γαμώτο...μπουρδέλο τα έχουμε κάνει! Δεν γαμιέται...ας μη βγάλουμε μερικά δολλάρια απόψε, ας ρίξουμε και μια ματιά στον φουκαρά τον πλανήτη, να δούμε αν μπορούμε να τον προστατέψουμε λίγο. Έτσι...για τα παιδιά μας τουλάχιστον" ΞΕΧΝΑ ΤΟ γιατρέ!

Ακούω συχνά διάφορους να παπαρολογούν, να αμολάνε ασύστολες παρόλες ως νέοι προφήτες ότι το τέλος του κόσμου θα έρθει τότε και θα έρθει έτσι και γιουβέτσι και κοκορέτσι και και και! ΜΑΛΑΚΙΕΣ...ΗΛΙΘΙΟΤΗΤΕΣ ΤΟΥ ΚΕΡΑΤΑ! Δεν γουστάρω να τους ακούω, ούτε να τους βλέπω!! Μάλιστα κάποτε άκουσα πως μετά από κάααααποια εκατομύρια χρόνια η γη θα καταστραφεί από την μεγάλη άνοδο της θερμοκρασίας λόγω της μείωσης της αποστασής της από τον ήλιο! Ελέχθη από επιστήμονες! Όχι από προφήτες. Αυτό φαίνεται να είναι το φυσιολογικότερον του πράγματος εδώ που τα λέμε. Είναι όμως έτσι και πότε ανακαλύφθηκε αυτό το συμπέρασμα; Υπήρχε Μπους-της εκείνη την περίοδο;  Berlusconi; Merkel; Barosso; Medvedev; Τους είχαν προβλέψει αυτούς; Μα και βέβαια ΟΧΙ! Οι άνθρωποι είναι επιστήμονες, δεν είναι προφήτες και ότι προέβλεψαν το προέβλεψαν βάσει επιστημονικών δεδομένων και πολυετούς εργασίας και μόχθου πάνω στο αντικείμενο! Δεν έιναι Χορταρέες...ούτε Λιακόπουλοι!

Οφείλω πάντως να συγχαρώ τον γιατρό για αυτό του το άρθρο αλλά να υπογραμμίσω και την απαισιοδοξία μου για την διάσωση του πλανήτη μας υπό τις παρούσες συνθήκες! Everyone loves to create their own legends wrestlers and have their favourite classics take on each other, or current superstars.  But these "creations" were never 100% "right".  If only a game coming along would allow you to truly go back, in a way that was (until now) only hinted at with the Blue Steel Cage and WrestleMania IX ring from a few SmackDown's ago.  Good news... there IS.

THQ has announced a WWE Legends of WrestleMania game.  While minimal details are known at this time, it is confirmed that Hulk Hogan, Andre the Giant and Bobby "The Brain" Heenan are in the game.  And judging by this video here, it looks incredible.

IGN also has an interesting little preview, and I am exceptionally pumped to hear that Heenan (as Andre's manager) actually gets involved in the match.

No roster details are announced, so let the specualting begin! It's highly unlikely that the Ultimate Warrior will be in the game due to his licensing issues with WWE/WWF, not to mention his questionable sanity. And unfortunately, I doubt "Macho Man" Randy Savage will be in; they still haven't released a DVD compilation of one of their best World Champions ever, nor have they had any involvement with him since he left WCW. While there are rumours about why this is so (rumours which I will not help perpetuate), it is a shame. Because I would love to re-enact the Main Events from WrestleMania V and VI.

The game contains 40 wrestlers, and is set in the 80s and 90s. There are countless stars from those eras for WWE to choose from, and so many WrestleMania Moments to be recreated. I can't wait!

WWF Wrestling Superstars (LJN, 1984-1989)

I only owned Brutus 'The Barber' Beefcake and Junkyard Dog, but I remember all of these figures because I had friends right down the road who were HUGE wrestling fans before I was and they owned all of these massive rubbery figures. That's what made them so appealing though, their larger than life size. These bad boys clocked in around 12-inches and I remember them being pretty heavy for little kids to be playing with. Many saturdays were filled with going to my friends' house and playing with their figures while WWF Superstars or WWF Challenge or Hulk Hogan's Rock 'N' Wrestling would be on the TV. My friends also had the ring, where we staged many cage matches. Hm. This could be a very worthy eBay bidding venture.

I seem to remember bonking someone on the head with one of these 5 lb figures (or perhaps being bonked).

Batman/DC Comics Super Heroes (Toy Biz, 1989-1990)

Despite the fact that Kenner's 'The Dark Knight Collection' (launched in 1990) had it all over this line in terms of quality sculpting, Toy Biz's Batman/DC Comics Super Heroes line still holds a place in my heart. First off, it's a (cheap) clone of Kenner's old 'Super Powers' line, which I had fondness of. I mean, seriously, they must've stolen the molds from Kenner when making these figures, they're that similar looking, it's just that the spring-loaded actions that the 'Super Powers' line had is absent. I have to admit that the line was pretty cheaply made, Toy Biz was just starting out and had no clue. My Joker had part of his lower leg break off, and my Lex Luthor literally split in half on the very first day I owned him. The Flash was kinda dumpy looking and his little zoom platform he came with to give the appearance of running didn't really work.

The line originally launched simply as 'Batman' and was based upon the 1989 movie. Pretty small line as it only featured Batman (square jaw & round jaw versions), the Joker and Bob the Goon along with some vehicles. Of course, the line was a dream come true for me. My uncle bought me Batman, the Joker, Bob the Goon, the Batmobile and Batplane for one Christmas. It was awesome. I remember feeling bad though because my parents had only bought me the Batman figure that same Christmas and I felt sorry for them thinking *they* would feel bad because I got that figure plus more from someone else. Personally, I didn't mind though, I've never minded having doubles of the same figure, I would usually just turn one into a spinoff character (example: calling the extra Batman simply "Dark Knight") or an evil version or something. I later was able to pick up the Joker Van at Big Lots really cheap. Well, more like I got my mom to buy it for me. I loved that van!

Anyway, in 1989, there was no way a Batman toyline was going to fail, so after that success, Toy Biz decided to expand on the whole DCU using the aforementioned 'Super Powers' knockoffs. Superman was a really cool figure from that line, he came with a kryptonite ring and, through the magic of magnetism, when you put it close to his chest, he would fall down. I always wanted the Riddler, Wonder Woman and Green Lantern, but could never find them. The low-quality expanding of the line pretty much killed it and Toy Biz would go on to do wonders for Marvel's superheroes and eventually get bought out by Marvel.

The Real Ghostbusters (Kenner, 1986-1991)

I was a huge "Real" Ghostbusters fan as a kid. I loved the cartoon, but wasn't really a fan of the movies (and I'm still not to this day). The movies were just too dark and serious for me, whereas the cartoon was a bit lighter (thought it could also get dark and scary at times... the Bogeyman always freaked me out). Well, the toy line was based on the cartoon and much like the cartoon, it had it's goofy figures as well as freakish ones. My friend had all of the Haunted Humans they were particularly creepy to me, though that whole line is awesome.

There was a line called Monsters that came out toward the end of the line's run, featuring classic horror icons such as Dracula, Frankenstein's monster and the wolfman. I bought the wolfman and monster at K-Mart for a PENNY a piece. Seriously, they were discounted that much and they weren't even old. I think I picked up two Captain Planet figures for the same price that day as well.

I really loved the Fright Features figures, you just squeeze'em and they make some silly action to let you know the're scared. The FF Venkman is my favorite from this series, his hair would rise up and his eyes would bug out.

Transfomers (Hasbro, 1984-1990)

This would be "Generation 1" for all you TF geeks. In hindsight, I don't really like Transformers (the cartoon or the toys) as much as I did back then. Weird. I still LOVE G.I. Joe, but the 'formers just don't do much for me. But that's okay, because we're talking about my mindset *then*, not *now*.

The big guns I never owned. I never had a Megatron or Optimus Prime. I had to settle for the "mini" Transformers or yard sale worn out Transformers. But for the time, they were still awesome. And as the tale goes, I had friends who had most of'em and I got my jollies playing with their figures.

Super Powers (Kenner, 1984-1986)

It was a series of comics (drafted up by Jack Kirby, no less), a cartoon and a toy series. I actually own most of the Super Powers comics, but have never read them. The cartoon, of course, is awesome and I own both DVD sets. But the toys were something even more special. They were one of my earliest introductions to superheroes and comics and I have fond memories for the Batman figure from this line, which is probably my favorite action figure of all time. Unfortunately, a some point, one of his legs snapped off and years later he went MIA. The Super Powers line also continued the awesome tradition of mini-comics!

Pues si Damas y Gérmenes, hoy se cumplen 7 años del fallecimiento del legendario luchador de pressing catch, Terry "Bam Bam" Gordy. Antes de comenzar el post de hoy os comento que nada más levantarme de la cama he podido comprobar que 278 familias se van a quedar en paro por la supresión de empleos que va a aplicar en España la famosa marca de neumáticos Pirelli, como diría algún ministro por ahí, esto es culpa de las propinas que dejamos en los restaurantes y bares, yo ahora hago una reflexión y digo que sí, como dejamos propinas en los bares pues nos quedamos sin dinero y entonces no podemos comprar coches, y al no poder comprar coches pues las compañías de neumáticos no venden y entonces por eso las compañías despiden a sus trabajadores jajajajaja. Como diría una famosa marca de electrodomésticos YO NO SOY TONTO.

Después de este pequeño paréntesis vamos a explicar la historia de Terry Gordy, en la cuarta entrega de los famosos luchadores de Pressing Catch muertos...

Terry Gordy comenzó en el mundo de la lucha libre a los 16 años, como Terry Mecca. A principios del año 1979, adoptó su nombre más conocido Terry "Bam Bam" Gordy y formó grupo con Michael Hayes, el grupo se llamaba The Fabulous Freebirds. Su etapa en dicho grupo fue más bien exitosa, comenzando en la World Class Championship Wrestling para pasar por un breve periodo de tiempo por la WWF.

Terry también pasó por la All Japan pro Wrestling, donde consiguió dos títulos de la AJPW Triple Crown Championship. Varios problemas de salud durante su época en la AJPW provocaron que Terry no pudiera triunfar más, si cabe.

Gordy junto al "Doctor Muerte" Steve Williams, llegaron a la World Championship Wrestling en el año 1992 y ganaron dos de los torneos en los que participaron. Finalmente y solo 2 años después, Gordy se separó de Williams...

En este mismo año Terry Gordy se reunió de nuevo con Hayes y Garbin en la formación de The Freebirds en la Global Wrestling Federation, y consiguieron alzarse con el título de The tag team titles. En el año 1996, Terry hizo aparición en la Extreme Championship Wrestling, con más pena que gloria.

Curiosamente vamos a explicar ahora su corta pero intensa participación en la WWF, que es lo que conocemos todos, lo que llamamos como Pressing Catch. Terry Gordy entró en escena en la WWF en el papel de The Executioner, que viene a significar algo así como El Verdugo. Terry llevaba encima una máscara que ocultaba su rostro y un hacha. Aunque jamás se dijo que Terry Gordy era el que se escondía debajo de este atuendo, cierto es que los fans de la lucha libre y del propio Terry sabían que era él el que estaba detrás de aquel disfraz. Luchó contra el Enterrador (The Undertaker) y cedió una derrota...

Terry Gordy falleció el 16 de julio de 2001, víctima de un ataque al corazón debido a un coágulo de sangre que se le formó. Su hijo Ray Gordy lucha en la actualidad en la WWE, la que vemos en cuatro...

• Mick tells Vince it's....him. Mick Foley will represent Linda McMahon at Judgment Day. Yeah, he might be a little fat, a little rusty and a lot retired, but he also has nothing to lose and that means that Vince McMahon should consider him a very dangerous man. So who is it Vince? Who's he got?
• Vince says he knows better than to underestimate Foley and he's got just the guy. And he'll let him know who it is later in the show.

Everywhere I've gone, the story never changes. I go into a meeting with creative and they tell me act as Mexican as you can. I do it. Despite, the stereotype I"m forced to put out there, I get over with the crowd everywhere. But does Eddie get main-events? Does Eddie get title shots? No, I get pushed to the side in favor of guys who I made look good in the first place. Ain't that right Jericho? Benoit? So you know what? I didn't take it from you Heyman when I was in ECW. I didn't take it from Bischoff in WCW. And I'm sure as hell not gonna take it here. So...I quit"

Perry Saturn catches up with Eddie on his way out the door. He tries to talk him out of it, to no avail. Eddie tells Perry he's got a match to worry about so go handle your business.

He wants a shot at Jericho's IC Title also. Just to make it fair they'll fight right after the tag match, so both men are equally worn down. Jericho isn't sure that Benoit is serious but eventually realizes he is and seems to somewhat reluctantly agree.

Backstage, Jericho is standing by himself when Raven approaches. He says that Jericho should have seen this coming. Raven did. Two giant egos will never move over to make room for the other. Jericho should be careful. Sometimes when you run with wild dogs you get bit.

Steve Austin & The Big Show vs. Triple H & Test

• 9 minute match
• Referee never gets control of the match and all 4 men brawl all over ringside and use chairs and the announcers table.
• Test hits Show with several big boots but can't knock him off his feet. Austin hits Test in the back of the head with the WWF Title Belt and Show gets the chokeslam for the win. Triple H gets Austin though and manages to Pedigree him on the outside.

Opening Promo Time w/ The Undertaker

• Undertaker wants to cut to the chase. He told Vince a few weeks ago that his contract did not include a no-compete clause. Either he gets a shot at the World Wrestling Federation Title tonight in Indianapolis or he walks. Maybe he'll sign with somebody in Japan, maybe he'll help an upstart promotion get some pub or maybe he'll just sign a contract with Shane McMahon and be the face of the WCW faction here in the  WWF.
• Vince is out. He's tired of being told what to do. You want a shot tonight, fine, you got it. But if Taker does not beat Steve Austin tonight, he will sign a new WWE contract. That contract will include a no-escape clause. Which means no matter how awful Vince makes his life...he can't leave.
• Taker accepts and we have a WWF Title match tonight.

COMMERCIAL

Kurt Angle vs. Jeff Hardy

• 5 minute match
• Hardy ducks a clothesline and gets a couple of quick rights and the leap of faith.
• Hardy sets up for the swanton but it hits knees.
• Angle Slam finishes it.
• After the match, Angle locks in the AnkleLock until Matt makes the save.

Backstage, The Undertaker is meeting with his brother Kane. He wants him to watch his back tonight.

COMMERCIAL

Steve Austin wants to know what the hell Vince is doing. He didn't come prepared to wrestle tonight. He doesn't even have his knee brace. Vince says he had no choice. He can't allow The Undertaker to sign with Shane and give them a sense of power. Doesn't Austin understand that the more superstars that go to WCW, the more power Shane has. He's gotta nip it in the bud. Austin wants to make sure this doesn't have anything to do with the Stunner he hit Steph with on Monday. Vince says it does not, but he does not approve of Austin's actions on Monday. He hasn't always agreed with Steph, but he did not want to see her hospitalized.

Non-Title Match: X-Pac vs. Test

• 6 minute match
• The Big Show makes his way out to ringside.
• Test takes control and hits the pump-handle powerslam on X-Pac near the ropes right in front of Show.
• Justin distracts the ref which allows Big Show to reach through the ropes with a right hand for Test.
• Test is groggy and X-Pac hits the X-Factor for the upset win.
• After the match, Show chokeslams Test.

In the back, Triple H arrives with a sledgehammer and an angry look on his face.

COMMERCIAL

In the back, The Hardys discussing the earlier match with Angle when Shane McMahon walks in. He thanks the Hardys for their help on Sunday...though they were a little later than he would have liked. He is a little confused though. He thought they had a deal. Jeff says they never said they had made up their minds and a guaranteed contract from the WWF seemed the safe way to go. Shane says he's surprised to hear how concerned the Hardys are about safety. Awkward Silence. Shane shakes it off and says it's cool...he wishes The Hardys luck in their future endeavors. They shake hands.

Elsewhere, Vince is on the phone with Linda. Linda says that something needs to change. Their are too many people with power in the WWF. All four McMahons, Regal, Foley..it's too many chiefs. Some time soon decisions will have to be made to make the WWF a more disciplined environment. Vince says for once they agree.

The Holly Cousins vs. Edge & Christian

• 7 minute match
• Match spills out of the ring several times and is generally out of control.
• Benoit and Jericho are shown watching on monitors in the back.
• Holly mis-communication leads to Edge pinning Bob after a reverse X-Factor.

The Coach is standing outside Triple H's locker room. He'll attempt to talk to HHH next.

COMMERCIAL

Coach does attempt to speak with Triple H. But Hunter doesn't have much to say. He does slam Coach's head into the wall though, so that's a message of some sort.

Promo Time with Vince McMahon

• At Judgment Day there will be a special match. You see Vince and his wife Linda will never agree on the direction of the World Wrestling Federation so a decision had to be made. At Judgment Day both he and his wife will select a WWF Superstar to represent them and what the superstar represents is 25% of the creative control in the WWF. Yes, whoever loses that match will have no control in his Federation. This will put him one step closer to complete control, with just his two ingrate children standing in his way. This Monday on Raw both participants will be revealed.

WWF Hardcore Title: Rhyno (c) vs. Matt Hardy

• 8 minute match
• Good long hardcore match with lots of near-falls.
• They fight into the backstage area and end up right near William Regals office.
• Matt sets up the Twist of Fate and Regal comes out of his office and hits him in the back of the knee with what appears to be a walking stick.
• Rhyno gores him into the wall and gets the pin.

COMMERCIAL

WWF Light-Heavyweight Title: Dean Malenko (c) vs. Scotty II Hotty

• 6 minute match
• Another hotly contested match-up.
• Scotty posts himself on a blind charge. Malenko mounts him on the top rope and hits the super gut-breaker for the win.

In the back, Steve Austin and Vince McMahon are discussing current events when Triple H kicks in the door and attacks Austin. He beats on Austin very good until security is able to make the scene and escort Hunter off the grounds. Cole wonders how Austin can beat the Undertaker now?

World Wrestling Federation Title Match: Stone Cold Steve Austin (c) vs. The Undertaker

• 7 minute match
• Ref Bump
• Taker looks for the Last Ride. Vince McMahon in with a chair to the back. Taker no-sells and goozles McMahon. Austin crushes him with the chair. Vince revives the ref who makes the pin. Austin Wins.
• Taker does the zombie sit-up and is bleeding.

1. Put on a sweater. Remember, when you turn up the heat in wintertime, you furnace is probably burning fossil fuels. A sweater or a nice warm robe will keep you even warmer and will help conserve resources and reduce global warming.

2. Put one foot in front of the other. One hundred years ago, 99.9% of people got by without cars. They took the train, they lived near their workplace...and they walked. Using fuel-efficient cars is important, but we can save even more fuel by simply driving less.

3. Go for seconds. Recycling doesn't only mean separating your cans and bottles. It can mean using things a second (or a third) time. That nice padded envelope you got in the mail, for example? Instead of throwing it away, scratch out the address, tear off the stamps and us it again.

4. Watch your waste. Items you may be throwing away can contaminate the soil and water for thousands or millions of years. Your community probably has special disposal procedures for things lie used oil and batteries, ink cartridges can probably be recycled where you bought them. And many of the new super-efficient light bulbs mercury, so proper disposal is crucial. Check with the store where you buy them.

5. Paper nor plastic. Bring your bags with you! By taking reusable bags to the grocery store, you can cut down on the 350 bags the average American uses each year, and reduce needless deaths to marine life caused by plastic bags that end up in streams, rivers and oceans.

6. BYOB. Last year Americans went through about 50 billion plastic water bottles. Fill up a reusable water bottle at home and bring it with you. Don't like the taste of your tap water? Buy a filter! (Remember, much of the bottled water sold today is filtered tap water, anyway...)

7. Flip'em off. In much America we can't even see the starts anymore, due in part to all the electirc lights. Keep the light on in the room you're in, but keep the rest of your house dark. You'll find the dark is soothing.

8. Get in touch with your roots. Plant a tree! Good for the soil, good for the birds, good for reducing global warming- and good for the air you're breathing!

9. Get off. Catalogs are great when they're from companies you like to order from. But if you're getting catalogs from companies you don't buy from, call them and tell them to get you off their list- and that's an order.
