For those of you who come here often, you may notice I change the way the site looks now and then. I think I am finally happy with this one. It's simple and it has all the info and links I want. Since I have so many posts now, I'm working on tagging and categorizing them to make it easier to go look up more info on something.

While we were out doing a little shopping before taking 16 to the Homecoming game, we took some pics of the gorgeous mountains. The leaves are turning and even as far as away as we are from them, you can still see the brilliant red colors in the sunlight. They were too gorgeous not to share.

Tomorrow (well, later today actually I really need to get to sleep) we're going to the big Fall Festival in my hometown. I'll be sure to take pics and post them later on too.  Is anyone else going to a Fall Festival? I heard there's a Woolly Worm Festival and a Black Walnut Festival.  I love living in Appalachia :)

Wowsers!!

It will be 2 years before I know it. I definitely see some growth and maturing, although I'd hoped to see more. I'm remaining patient. My hair is so much thicker now and it's been over 10 years since I've had this much hair...maybe even 15 years. I'm still retightening my own hair, but I'm gonna get a professional to handle it in December. I think I'm gonna try Oyin's Greg Juice. Meika gave it a rave review and I was very satisfied with the products i ordered from them years ago. That Funk Butter was the business!!
Once I hit the 2 year mark, I'm using my own shampoo. Well maybe I should say I'll use my own in combination with the SL shampoo. I don't really have a problem with the product; I just want something different in my head.

I should get some of Brunsli's hair ties now. I love my Soft Spikes too. I'm learning how to get more curl versus just a bend using the Spikes. I've started flat-twisting and wearing little ponytails. I'm trying to be more versatile with all this hair! My daily "style" is just pulling it away from my face and securing both sides with 2 bobby pins. That's fancy. lol I'm just so happy with my hair. :-)

Makua's personality shows itself more and more each day. He is very observant and it seems as though people watching is one of his favorite things to do. He is also quite tentative and careful. Thankfully he's not a little daredevil boy. Being the tentative tyke he is, it's taking him a while to feel comfortable enough (or maybe it's confident enough) in his standing/walking skills to let go of things while he's walking. Lately though, he's been standing for longer periods of time without holding on to things. Tonight he finally took his first steps on his own. Hopefully he stays tentative and isn't running soon.

He's also trying to make animal noises. One of his favorite books is a big book of animals. I was trying to get him to make elephant noises (which, by the way, I stink at) and he thought that was pretty funny. He kind of makes moo'ing sounds. Maybe his first word will be moo. :P

That's another thing about Makua. He does things in his own sweet time. We've tried to get him to say various things or point to different parts of his body. He just looks at you like you're an idiot. Sometimes I worry that he's "behind" his peers and not meeting his milestones, but then I remember to relax and not push him. He'll do it when he's ready to.
