[gallery]

So we are out of the house and on the road like a pack of gypsies. Really. Today we stopped at an Arby’s and I laughed so hard I almost peed in my pants. Picture a standard cab truck with one large man, one little woman, a baby in a car seat, two dogs, and three bags trying to eat a meal. My poor husband had to take his beef and cheddar from a lady who I know was laughing inside. He is a big man and he had my tiny cute Pekingese hanging out the window panting at the lady. He kept trying to push Ollie’s head down so you couldn’t see him…but Ollie wasn’t having it. He was going to be seen.

We dropped of the keys to our old house with the new owner, hooked up to the travel trailer, and headed out of town. We are spending some awesome quality time with my parents for the Labor Day weekend. We probably should have stayed in town but I was adamant about taking this trip. The crazier life gets the less time we get with the ones we love. I am really looking forward to the next few days.

I am also looking forward to forgetting the last few days. Cramming everything we own into a storage building and saying goodbye to our very first house was really hard. It was not only mentally taxing but also physically exhausting. We had help Tuesday from the truck brigade. My Mom took a shift with Vi. Mom Brockmann took a shift with Vi. Mrs. Pepin (+baby) took a shift with Vi. My parents brought us their enclosed trailer. Then Friday Chet came to help us move and when he had to leave he sent his parents to help with the last minute stuff. Without all of the hands we had helping I have no idea how we could have possibly gotten everything done. Somehow by the grace of God we did.

The trip here was interesting to say the least. We had Mom Brockmann’s navigation system (which we desperately need to return to her!!!) and my husband has changed the little car on the map to a monster truck. He has also changed the normal talking lady to some guy with an Australian accent. I have made him promise he will change it back. I must, however, admit that it is funny J

Navigation sent us the scenic route which provided some interesting options for hotels, motels, Holiday Inns. I always see interesting themes on trips…this might have been one of the strangest. One place was called the Colton Courtand it had a giant gun on the sign. Safety must be there highest priority ;) Next up was the Starlight Inn. The Starlight Inn's sign simply said "A.M. coffee" on the sign. Talk about amenities! Then we saw a place that boasted X-tra clean rooms. I would assume that you could probably get just a clean room for a discounted rate...but we didn't stop to ask. The strangest one I have yet to figure out. One sign said "Save on gas - Check out our weekday rates." Now I could be wrong...but isn't it the same distance every day of the week?

Anyhow here we sit in our travel trailer paradise.

Wish you were here!
