...to face your fears. You have to do scary things, so you won't be afraid anymore.

~Daughter, 12

She asked me to blog these words. Me, Son, and Daughter were walking from the food court back to our car. I dunno. I guess it just hit her, and I get this wide-eyed "ooh, Ma, I got a good one for you!" LOL. You know the drill. I can't even remember what we were talking about. All I know is...when little teacher asks if I completed my assignment (posting this blog), I want to get a big, red happy face on my paper (nose and teeth included lol) :-).

Hmm....scary things. I reeeally could go down the street with this one. But I'll just cover her words, and let them simmer after a high boil. Marinating my fears in this Truth will do me some good....how 'bout you? Got some scary things you need to do (or keep on doing)....to grow, get over it, succeed, BE?

I jotted down a few of my scary things....things I do, or want to do more often. Looks like they 'boil down' to "just being Me" regardless. Love, accept, approve...ME!

- Letting go of the familiar/safe, to make room for the new/unknown
- Doing things that show my weakness/vulnerability
- Speak my Truth, no matter how others take it
- Blogging about my fears *wink*

Your turn...if it's not too scary :).

I was waiting for this shoot for a very long time, may be an year or so. Fortunately, last Saturday, managed to wake up at 5.00am and biked till Cubbon Park. I wanted to see the UB City from various points and locations to get different angles, so a small walk through the Lavelle Road, the Vittal Mallya Road, the Kasturba Road, a bit inside the Cubbon park just near the Venkatappa Art Gallery helped me capture few frames with different perspectives.

There was a new Bungalow in the making on the Left of UB City, where i entered with the knowledge of a mason boy, but the security guard said NO for photography. Somehow motivated him and I managed to click one frame from the balcony, through a small cleave.. here it is for you.

From Vittal Mallya Road....

From Lavelle Road Side...

I also have some frames of UB city in my archives.. check them at
UB City

NOTE:
UB City is one of the largest mixed use developments. It is at the heart of India's IT Capital, Bangalore, brought to you by one of India's largest conglomerates which is also synonymous with Bangalore. The UB Group. Yes UB City is the new identity to Bangalore City.

New York was awesome! I am sooo happy I went :)

Ok, TImeline:

9.30 am: boarded "megabus", got in second and got a good seat in the front :D
10.00 am: bus left for New York, two hour bus ride was very nice, I listened to music and ate M&Ms
12.15 pm: bus arrived at Penn Station, NYC. I got out, walked up one block and went into H&M where I saw these awesome black wedges... didn't buy anything. Went on to Starbucks near Times Square, had iced tall soy caramel macchiato and a peach/rasberry joghurt with "Müesli" in it :)
ca. 1.30 pm: Walked to the Salvation Army on 46th Str. between 10th and 11th avenue. Looked and bought a flanel shirt. Almost bought an old leather jacket for only 35 $. I'll be back :D
ca. 2.45 pm: Walked down 46th street one block in east direction and ended up right infront of pottery "Mud, Sweat and Tears", owned by a friend of my moms. Walked in, asked for Bob, he wasn't there. Left.
ca 2.45 pm: Got on Subway, went up to 84th street & Broadway. Walked in north direction until 96th street, realized Urban Outfitters was on 72nd not the 80ies, got back on Subway, went to 72nd, went to shop at Urban Outfitters, bought cool lomo picture (canvas) of prorcelain deer figure for 9.99$
ca. 4.00 pm: got back on Subway, went to Soho/Chinatown, shopped at "Pearl River Market", bought pretzel sticks with chocolate on them (Swtzrlnd: "Mikado", Chinatown: "Pocky"). Walked around Chinatown and Soho.
ca. 5.00 pm: sat down in Starbucks, drank iced tall soy caramel macchiato and ate little plate with walnut-raisin-bread, chesses, orange slice, grapes and apple slices. Called friend Michelle (from Switzerland who was staying in New Jersey), looked on map for ferry to NJ, found ferry to New Jersey.
ca. 5.25 pm: left starbucks, walked along canal street to Duarte Sq., took subway to 42nd str. & 8th ave (Port Authority), walked over 4 avenues and down 3 streets to take the ferry to weehawken NJ.
ca. 6.50 pm: barely got on ferry, went over to Weehawken, walked out, saw someone and realized it was friend Michelle, screamed, ran hugged, srcreamed some more, hopped, smile etc. Went to eat pizza with her and her family who were very nice and funny :)
ca. 8.15 pm: left pizza place and went to their hotel room. Had bailey's with her and her family. Her parents left for a walk, talked with Michelle.
ca. 9.30 pm: left hotel with Michelle, was driven back to port with her by her dad, said good-bye, waited for ferry, got on ferry, went back over.
ca. 10.00 pm: Got off, took free bus to times square, walked to Grand Central Station, bought ticket to Hastings-on-Hudson (where my aunt lives and I stayed overnight), waited for train.
10.56 pm: train left.
ca. 11.35 pm: train arrived in Hastings-on-Hudson, got off, walked to my aunts house, went in, put on PJs, went on computer, my aunt came home from wedding, said hello, talked for a few minutes, said goodnight, got ready for bed, read people mags.

Sunday, October 5th

10.55 am: train left for NYC
11.30 am: arrived at Grand Central, went to starbucks, got iced tall soy caramel macchiato and joghurt again, went to H&M, looked at very cool sweater, didn't buy it though, but bought cool furry fluffy overly big hat :D Walked up 5th ave, went to anthropologie, took subway to central park south west corner, walked into park, sat down, relaxed, got up, went back on subway to Penn Station. Went to H&M, bought black wedges. Bought another caramel macchiato and cheese/bread/fruit platter for bus.
03.15 pm: started waiting in line for bus
03.45 pm: bus left. Slept a little.
05.45 pm: arrived in Philly, went to train station, bought notebook and pen for 4$, wrote down what everything had cost, what I still need to do etc.
06.49 pm: train to daylesford left.
Transportation (Train, Bus, Subway, Ferry, Metro-North, Subway, Bus, Train): 63.75 $
Shopping (shirt, picture, shoes, chocolate-stix, hat, pen, notebook): 80.95 $
Food: 29.80 $
Total: 174.50 $

I think that's pretty good for a weekend trip to NYC :)

The Salvation Army was awesome! I want to buy a leather jacket... I'll find another one just as good as the one I wanted to buy :) ANd if it's fake leather it'll be just 12$ :D The whole weekend was great... it was so nice being indepentend again and just doing stuff on my own and travelling all over the whole city :) ANd now I know how it all works and stuff, so next time will be even better. Ahh! And I saw so many people who had style, like, their own style! It was so cool :D I almost bought this really cool sweater at H&M, it was really really huge (size S went down to my knees) and it had a triangle not-so-pattern (it wasn't symmetrical) and was white black and brown :D I'm prbably still gonna buy it sometime...

Oh, and the picture: I've been wanting it for about two months now XD I finally bought it and even cheaper! ANd this morning I finally understood my fascination with it!!!

When I was little I had this porcelain figure of a little cat with really cute big eyes, and the head is bigger than the body, and that porcelain deer in the picture is from the same "series"!! It has those exact same eyes!!! It was one of those "ooooh"-choir singing and light shining through clouds onto my face-moments :D I was so happy!

The photo is the one on the far left on here: http://benjaminlong.com/combination31.htm
They cropped it to a square shape for the canvas print.

Take a look at the rest of the website: http://benjaminlong.com has some really nice art! I especially like the photographs.

And in Anthropologie I found these really cool booklets thingies: Mind log/health log/idea log: three different little agenda type things, just not for agendas. The mind log has stuff like, how you felt this day, dream log and stuff, the health log has a section for a food agenda, excercise log, sleep log, and the idea log has a section for scetches, one for quotes and more, check them out here:

Health Log
Mind Log
Idea Log

They're cheaper when you buy them in Anthropologie though... I think they'd make cool presents :D There was also a book, a guide for vintage shopping, with good stores all around the world, pretty cool :) And there was a book called "Top Tips for Girls" by Kate Reardon with all sorts of tips (household, cooking, pets, etc.) and it had some pretty good stuff in there, tips sent in by people :)

And I wanna read pride and prejudice.

Yeah, that's about it, I'm gonna go order that sewing machine now :)

We will release a new version of 36-image converter, a week earlier than scheduled. Version 4.4.4 is quite an important release, it enables us to quickly import new functions without having to make any changes to the interface. This will speed up the development of a 36-image converter with frames and photoshop-like improvements.

36IC 4.4.4 will also contain a new brush-function which will replace the pencil tool. This also means that V4.4.4 will come with a few brushes to start with. The color selection functions are split as well, there is an extra button which will enable a color picker to select a color from the image. Also the text function is finally out of the BETA stage.

The new release will also come with an update of the DashBoard and the help file.

We would also like to announce that 36IC 4.4.3 is now #21 in popularity on download.com in the category "Image editing" leaving Ulead and Fireworks far behind it, we hope to top the 1.600 downloads a week next week. 36-image converter will also appear in PC magazine in Italy, a magazine with 45.000 subscriptions and a high sales rate.

Internet search engine, Ask.com - which, earlier this year, announced plans to make itself over as a

Internet search engine, Ask.com - which, earlier this year, announced plans to make itself over as a women's site (we kid you now) - has rolled out a new version of its Internet search engine, which it promises offers better search results and is faster than ever before. And Ask.com is hoping to use the hubbub and uncertainty surrounding search competitors Google, Microsoft, and Yahoo to capture a bigger share of the online search market.

"Initial feedback from customers testing the new site has been overwhelmingly positive," said Ask.com CEO Jim Safka, in a statement. "By listening to our customers and giving them what they want, we've already seen a 14 percent increase in customer satisfaction."

Ask.com's search engine employes semantic search technologies that the company says break new ground in Web extraction, ranking, and search results, and more innovations are expected to appear in coming months. Ask.com also says it has improved download speeds by up to 30 percent, so users get their search results faster.

The company also claims its improved search results are producing a 16 percent improvement in customer retention—and that, in turn, means the company earns more money from advertising placements on its search results pages.

Incidentally, ad placements on Ask.com are handled by…Google.

Ask.com says its search results are more likely to me relevant than other search engines, in part to extra emphasis it places on Entertainment, Health & Nutrition, Jobs, and Reference categories. Ask.com has also simplified its interface and integrates abroad range of content directly into its search results pages.

So here's something I didn't know.
Passion, the place I found my passion for this whole new experience is letting new and upcoming DJs through. A chance to play in the home of Passion, The Emporium.
What an opportunity!?

Its time to put get my head down, put a proper mixtape together and see what we can do. This is certainly a real chance. No better place than the birthplace of my co-existence with music that has formed since that very day.

Here's the info from the site:
Passion has always been proud of trying to introduce new and exciting talent alongside big named DJs.

We are dedicating one room to new underground and unsigned talent who will also get the chance to play alongside established artists...

Some have already built a following at Passion and some are playing for the first time.

The success of this room has already led DJs to play in the main room alongside some of the biggest names on the planet!

Well I was looking at the blog stats for this blog. Wonderful. Only one blog I have ever worked on has ever done that good...

Well I used to play Club Penguin. Ran a blog of it. (hint hint nudge nudge wink wink). And Runescape. Ran a CP army. But that all changed in January. I started to hate the game. Then quit in April.

Well Im 13, live in Ohio, USA. I own a Gamecube, and run a blog about it. (Blog)

Im going to be adding all your gaming news, mostly about Nintendo.
