Der Tag wird für Graham Hill, im Foto oben hinter Hulme verdeckt auf Startplatz 4, weit weniger erfreulich Ende. Der Weltmeister des Vorjahres bricht sich bei einem schweren Unfall beide Beine.

Michael Andretti gehört zu einer der bekanntesten Rennfahrer-Dynastien Nord-Amerikas, ist der Sohn des Formel 1-Weltmeisters von 1978, Mario Andretti, und Vater von IndyCar-Talent Marco Andretti. Mike hat nach Ende seiner eigenen Fahrerkarriere den Rennstall Andretti Green Racing und hat mit seiner Mannschaft bereits drei IRL-Meistertitel gewonnen und auch jenes Juwel, das ihm als Fahrer versagt bleib: Die 500 Meilen von Indianapolis.

5/10/1922, José Froilan González wird geboren in Arrecifes, Argentinien.

González debütierte 1950 beim Grand Prix von Monaco de 1950 in der Formel 1, nahm an 26 GPs in neuen Saisons von 1950 bis 1957 und jene im Jahre 1960 teil. Der Argentinier erzielte 2 Siege, 7 zweite und 4 dritte Plätze. Ausserdem gewann er die Copa Acerbo von 1951 und, im Jahre 1954, die 24 Stunden von Le Mans mit "Co" Maurice Trintignant.

5/10/1939, Walter Wolf wird geboren in Graz-Liebenau

Walter Wolf wanderte in jungen Jahren nach Kanada aus und wurde über das Bau- und Ölgeschäft zum Selfmade-Millionär. 1976 kaufte er Frank Williams unterfinanziertes Team auf, taufte es in Walter Wolf Racing um und holte gleich beim Debüt des ersten eigenen Renners 1977 mit Jody Scheckter am Steuer in Argentinien. Zwei weitere Siege und einigen Podestplätze folgten und der Südafrikaner wurde prompt Vizeweltmeister. Doch der Traum vom WM-Titel bleib unerfüllt, Wolf zog sich frustriert zurück. Heuer kam der Austro-Kanadier wegen Betrugs- und Bestechungsvorwürfen in die Schlagzeilen, wurde in einem Fall aber bereits freigesprochen.

Continuing the theme of alliterated triplet titles, I thought I'd take a look at the most popular remixes of Radiohead's "Reckoner". The song's "stems" are up for download at a price, and once remixed can be uploaded and entered into the competition. This comes following the success of their previous competition to remix "Nude"; possibly the most beautiful song from "In Rainbows". Hehehhe... tapi tenang saja, sampe kurang lebih setengah tahun kedepan sepertinya aq akan lumayan deket ato berusaha PDKT sama dunia fotografi ini. Today it was a good day. I woke up at around 12 PM after being in Columbus last night for Andreea's bday. The repeat of Andreea's bday. I slacked and chilled around, watched a movie (Forgetting Sarah Marshall), I've talked to a very good friend, Olga, and then went to a Teather play. Of course to name it a perfect day it had to end up with some beers. I ended up in Bridge at a colleagues bday.

In here while we were having the last round of beers we saw the "shining star" coming in with his girlfriend. There was this guy with a very black shining jacket. Madonna wore something like that in her "Vogue" video. At a point his girl went to the "Loo"  and he was trying to get his "jacket" off... he had problems with the zipper and was struggling for 5 minutes to unzip it... very humiliating for a tough cool romanian manelist. I found out in the end that he was a security guard in LOTUS (a.k.a. Izvorul Minunilor of all Malls!).

I rest my case... i resign from being a romanian and i hope to God that my resignation will get accepted.

P.S. - why do i write in english? because i miss it and i miss talking to someone in english...

Oktober 1968 - HEUTE VOR VIERZIG JAHREN: Mario Andretti sorgt bei seiner allerersten Teilnahme an einer Grand Prix-Veranstaltung - als Lotus Nummer 3 neben Titelanwärter Graham Hill und Jackie Oliver genannt - für eine Sensation, als er Jackie Stewarts Freitagszeit am Samstag um 7/100 einer Sekunde schlägt. Doch aus dem Sieg beim GP-Debüt würde nichts werden, Jackie Stewart knöpft Mario sofort nach dem Start die Führung ab und fährt einem sauberen Start-Ziel-Sieg entgegen, hält somit den Kampf um den WM-Titel gegen Graham Hill, der Zweiter wird, und Denny Hulme bis zum Finallauf offen.

Oktober 1970 - Emerson Fittipaldi erobert in Watkins Glen bei seinem erst vierten Grand Prix-Start nicht nur den ersten von insgesamt 14 WM-Lauf-Siegen seiner Formel 1-Karriere, der Brasilianer nimmt damit auch Jacky Ickx entscheidende Punkte weg und sichert seinem in Monza tödlich verunglückten Teamkollegen Jochen Rindt posthum den Weltmeister-Titel 1970.

4/10/1927, Roberto Bussinello wird geboren in Pistoïa, Italien.

Bussinello fuhr als Halbprofi bei Autodelta einen Alfa Romeo GTA in verschiedenen Tourenwagen-Meisterschaften. Als sich die Chance ergab für die Scuderia Centro Sud einen alternden BRM bei den Grands Prix von Deutschland und Italien zu fahren, griff der Italiener natürlich zu. Dass er sich am Nürburgring nicht fürs Rennen qualifizieren, muss man seiner mangelnden Erfahrung gutschreiben. Umso erstaunlicher, dass Bussinello sich dan in Monza ins Feld fuhr und seinen Traum von der Grand Prix-Teilnahme doch noch realisiern konnte.

Geboren: 4. Oktober 1927 in Pistoïa, Italien;
Verstorben: 24. August 1999 in Vicenza, Italien, im Alter von 71 Jahren.

4/10/1906, Eitel Cantoni wird geboren in Montevideo, Uruguay.

Aus dem kleinen südamerikanischen Land Uruguay stammend, überwand Cantoni allle Hürden um sich unter die horde von Südamerikanern zu mischen, die Ende der 40er Jahren nach Europa kamen, um Karriere im Motorsport zu machen.

Geboren: 4. Oktober 1906 in Montevideo, Uruguay;
Verstorben: 1. Juni 1997 in Montevideo, Uruguay, im Alter von 90 Jahren.

4/10/1992, Denis Clive Hulme stirbt

Formel 1-Weltmeister von 1967 mit Brabham, wechselte Denny Hulme dann zum Rennstall von Landsmann Bruce McLaren, wo er bis zu seinem Karriere-Ende blieb, und wurde als Teamkollege von Bruce CanAm-Meister 1968 und 1970. Im Jahre 1992 nahm "der Bär" im Alter von 56 Jahren noch einmal den Helm vom Nagel und bestritt das Bathurst 1000, neben dem Formel 1-GP Australiens grösste Motorsport-Veranstaltung. Am Steuer eines BMW M3 erlag der Champion einem Herzinfakt.

Geboren: 18. Juni 1936 in Moteuka, Neuseeland;
Verstorben: 4. Oktober 1992 in Bathurst, Australien, im Alter von 56 Jahren.

4/10/1998, Anthony Shelly stirbt.

Tony Shelly war ein erfolgreich Rennfahrer in seiner Heimat Neuseeland und sah sich für höheres berufen, als er 1962 nach Europa umzog und dort an einigen Formel 1-Rennen ohne WM-Prädikat teilzunehmen. Doch als es endlich zu einem Grand Prix-Start reichte, brach nach sechs Runden sein Rennwagen zusammen. Das war dann auch schon das Ende des Traums, Shelly zog stattdessen nach Hawaii und führte dort lange Jahre ein Autohaus, kehrte aber letztlich in die Heimat zurück, wo er heute vor 10 Jahren verstarb.

Geboren: 2.Februar 1937 in Wellington, Neuseeland;
Verstorben: 4. Oktober 1998 in Taupo, Neuseeland, im Alter von 61 Jahren.
