Es algo ñoño, lo sé, completamente. No es un gusto masivo, ni una costumbre normal el pensar en palabras que te gustan como se escriben, o palabras que te desagradan... Por ejemplo, me gusta la palabra "futil"... Es tan simple, elocuente. Se explica sola, es cortita, se asimila rápido, suena sexy y elegante xD Como "tiranía", también es sexy, pero prehistóricamente. No me interesa que la tiranía sea algo malo o no, eso no va al caso. Lo que me gusta es lo que me evoca xD Un dinosaurio bailando lambada.

Y siguiendo esa línea de razonamiento (el evocar la imagen de un carnívoro extinto moviendo su pelvis) pensé: "¿Y si las palabras me gustan más por la imagen mental?". Y al hacerme esa pregunta, recordé otra cosa que había leído antes, por una palabra en concreto: "Imagen".

La otra vez, por curiosidad, estaba leyendo un libro sobre los niños ciegos de nacimiento. En él, decían que el lenguaje es algo que se aprende no sólo por oído, sino por asimilar la imagen también. Por ello, los niños ciegos tienden a retrasarse en su aprendizaje del lenguaje. No sólo eso, sino también pueden ver afectado su desarrollo psicológico y social. Todo por la palabra. Además, recordaba otro artículo que una vez leí, sobre la sinestesia (cosa de la que hablaré en otro entry si lo recuerdo, porque es algo que me interesó mucho). El texto mencionaba la teoría de la "bubi" y la "kika"... o algo así. Lo que decía era: "¿Cuál te parece que es la bubi y cual es la kika?" mientras te mostraba dos imágenes. Una forma redondeada y una forma espinuda. Un gran porcentaje (cercano al 90% o más, no recuerdo bien) daba el nombre de "bubi" a la forma redondeada, y el nombre de "kika" a la forma estrellada. Lo curioso de este asunto es que la palabra "bubi" o "kika" no tienen significado alguno en nuestro idioma, y las imágenes no representaban nada concreto. Pero aún así la gente podía asumir un nombre para cada imagen sin problemas, aunque los elementos en cuestión no estuviesen relacionados. ¿No lo estaban? La idea era que no, pero, de alguna forma, relacionamos los sonidos a las formas. Las palabras escritas, según estudios, las relacionamos con ideas, y estas ideas pueden ser sonidos, imágenes, olores, sensaciones o lo que sea. Por ejemplo, podemos pensar en un perro. Para mí, la imagen primera primeriza de un perro es mi mascota, el Perham, y se me mezcla con un quiltro y con un pastor aleman al intentar pensar en un perro genérico. Pienso en que ladran y tienen un hocico hediondo... Pero por ejemplo, para un niño recién mordido, seguramente va a asumir la imagen de un perro como el perro atacante y va a generar un miedo. La palabra "perro" para él va a tener un distinto impacto que para mí. Pero me estoy alejando de la idea. La idea es que una palabra evoca un sonido, y el sonido evoca una imagen o sensación. Un sonido como la "ka" nos sugiere algo agudo, cortante, y quebrado, mientras la "bu" nos sugiere algo redondito y libre de daño (Curioso, pero algo así es como funcionan las onomatopeyas ahora que lo pienso). Y aquí es cuando vuelvo al tema de que una palabra me guste. Es cuando es armoniosa. Cuando una palabra, tanto escrita, como hablada, tiene armonía con la imagen que genera en mi mente. Al igual que la música, la cual me gusta cuando me transmite un sentimiento... como "Rain Song" de Led Zepelin OWO XD Pero eso no viene al caso. Lo que viene al caso es el darle un significado a una palabra. ¿Han intentado darle una imagen a una palabra abstracta? Si logran encontrar la imagen que calce perfecto, habrá que temer algo: ¿Seríamos capaces de aceptar la materialización de algo abstracto? ¿Seríamos capaces de aceptar algo que nos imaginamos, de una manera rápida al verlo concretado? Y pensando en ello, de alguna manera retorcida, llegué a encontrar una validez en muchas ideas que nunca he considerado como reales, o que al menos encontraba exageradas, como el amor a primera vista, ver un flashazo de tu vida antes de morir, el deja-vú, el descenso de un Mesias, entre una larga lista de cosas que no recuerdo xD Pero eso mejor lo escribo en otra ocasión... ya me he extendido mucho ahora...

The Jadcherla 13, of whom eight are seen in the picture, succeeded in lowering the votes of the main parties

They made history by standing as 13 independent candidates fighting the same Assembly seat but contesting for, not against, one another. They did it again on Sunday — by helping defeat the sitting Telangana Rashtra Samithi MLA, even as every one of them lost his or her own security deposit.

The 13 farmers contesting the Jadcherla seat in Telangana — who lost their lands to the Polepally Pharma Special Economic Zone — together drew a total of over 8,000 votes. That is, four times Congress candidate Mallu Ravi’s victory margin over the Telugu Desam Party’s Erra Sekhar.

The effort of these mainly Dalit, backward caste and Adivasi farmers — a protest to draw attention to their loss of land — torpedoed the sitting TRS MLA, Lakshma Reddy. He drew less than 21,000 votes and came third. Both his Congress and TDP rivals drew more than twice that number each.

As many as 350 families have lost all their land — some 969 acres — to the Pharma SEZ (The Hindu, May 26, 2008). But even if these families had three votes each, the Jadcherla 13 drew several times that number in sympathy. That is, there is clear evidence of a much wider sympathy for them. Not only did they lose their land, they got no compensation beyond a pittance per acre.

The land acquired by the government for the SEZ is adjacent to the national highway. It is also not far from the Shamshabad airport. Land rates in the region are thus well above Rs.20 lakh per acre. Often even higher than that. But the displaced farmers got sums ranging from Rs.18,000 to Rs.50,000 an acre, way below the prevailing market rates.

Common manifesto

Though rival contenders for the seat, these farmers fought on a common manifesto and campaigned jointly. Their declared aim was “to lower the votes of the main parties.” An aim they appear to have achieved. As one of the 13, Lingaiah, told The Hindu: “Actually, we wanted to put 150 candidates.” Which would certainly have drawn away even more votes from the major parties. But they could not as most could not afford the Rs.5,000 security deposit required.

Of them, Mala Jangilamma — who has sold four head of cattle in distress for just Rs.1,000 — netted the highest number of votes, 1771.

Chandi, an Adivasi, got 892. Together with their contesting colleagues — and two other independents who backed them — the Jadcherla 13 pulled in over 8,000 votes. Their manifesto made no promises and their only demand was and remains “we get our lands back, we get our lives back.”

¿Cómo olvidarla? En Latinoamérica se dio a conocer como la “Reina de la Lambada”, ya que aprovechó el auge de este ritmo brasileño para darse a conocer. En Venezuela, todos la recordamos por incursionar en el mundo musical con ritmos “tropicalientes”  (tecnomerengue y afines).

Su nombre real- para quienes no lo sabían - es Nathalíe Rodríguez, pero se inmortalizó como la inigualable y deslumbrante NATUSHA.  

Las cejas oscuras y el cabello rubio encendido eran su sello de distinción. Popularizó temas como  “Él la engañó”, “Sei Sei”,  “Tú la tienes que pagar”, “Cóseme los pantalones” y “Dame un besito”. Era infaltable en toda fiesta latina, pues su guaguancó  encendía las caderas y hacía bailar al más tieso.

Todavía tengo algunas de sus canciones en mi repertorio pachangoso  y cada vez que puedo la recuerdo, porque un “talento” tan peculiar como el de ella es imposible de borrar (todo trauma es así).

"Popcorn" fu pubblicato per la prima volta nel '69, nel primo album di Kingsley "Music To Moog By", ma la versione più nota, quella che ci ha fatto impazzire, è quella degli Hot Butter "Popcorn" (1972)

In this post I'll be digging deeper into doing things I've always wanted to have in .NET yet didn't. For example, I know I am not alone in wanting an IList (be it an IList<T> or a simple non-generic IList) to provide me a .foreach method as you get in a List<T>). This is just one of many things we address here (and more).

From the concrete to the abstract

I was having problems with entries in my path environmental variable, and I wanted an easy way to flag bad entries and also allow me to move the entries in the list up or down easily. This was made apparent by my use of a tool called 'Dependency Walker'. It's hard to live without but that's another post. See the screen shot below:

Above is the test (that also works). Before I launch into why this is interesting, what looks different?

1) EnvironmentVariableTarget : This is Microsoft's type not mine. It's the enum used to specify the target search on the environmentals.

2) _directoriesInPath : This is a string[] as you can see from the Assertion. But how does it support ForEach?

3) GetParsedValues() : What is that exactly?

in order to enable ForEach behavior I needed to add this extension method:

This content assumes you have an introductory knowledge of C# 3.0 language features in .NET 3.5. I use a 'pair programming' approach with continued refactoring as this is how I would discuss it if you were coding with me, with an unfortunate one-way delivery.

The Brief Strategic View

Microsoft has slowly been moving C# in a very productive direction (this is not new, as these features existed in 2.0 although not nearly as well integrated) to provide 'Functional Language' features. If you don't know or care about language semantics, just know that Linq and especially Lambada Expressions are about empowering you to use executable code like a variable, aka to leverage the power of functional programming. For more on this, read this MSDN article by Joel Pobar (former CLR Team) or read the next set of posts (part 2 onward) as I will go into the depths of this.

Painless Intro

I'll start with a fairly trivial, yet important example (I use it every day). Many times when comparing Strings I want to ignore case and culture (the InvariantCulture). This is provided by an overload as such as you likely know:

The test results are shown above. Pass. Ok so I really like short, concise code that is understandable at a glance. Also it's a pain to always (even with ReSharper) use this (and I have seen people use RegEx for this! RegEx is awesome but overkill for this issue).

Refactoring

• Create an extension method on String
• Decide on a good name for the method (this is SO important and for most an afterthought!)

I've settled on calling this new method on String 'EqualsCore' as that is what we are doing, making the conditions for a match 'simpler' and seeing 'just the core values' are the same (anyway it makes sense to me)., I suppose this could be 'EqualsRelaxed' or whatever..

Here is the test case (no code yet):

By accident I discovered something cool, which might be well understood by others but I must of missed that day at school. In fact this pattern I discuss below is precisely how Microsoft extended the IEnumerable<T> interface so extensively.

Since every type inherits from Object, and Equals is defined on Object, all instances should support this approach, and I could be early bound by using Generics.... Hmm...

I tried this (note: I gave it a new new 'EqualsThis' to separate them.

Functionally not that interesting at all, but a test. So I typed in the following and wow... It works from Intellisense's view... Ok it compiled! Wait.....FAIL! But why:?

So our code fails using the extension yet this returns true:

So Reflector to the rescue once again. I could see in Reflector what I believed the issue was. Indeed the StringBuilder class has an overloaded Equals, and even making the extension method cast to the generic type directly was a no go.

This exposes one of the dangers that we must be incredibly careful with. It has always been poor design in my opinion to encourage developers to override common methods such as ToString() and Equals(object X) with their own behaviors as you force consumers of the API to understand IMPLEMENTATION. You cannot ensure your OK simply from a contract. This is known to be evil....

Of course this is a legacy style and will be slowly phased out.

Spin up reflector and look at the code for the OVERLOAD that StringBuilder has:

When I was in middle school it was freaking. Before that it was humping. It was always inappropriate. It was always a simulation of sex. It was never called the “Rape Dance,” that is until some kids were caught on tape doing the forbidden dance with some onlookers saying “Rape that ho”. Now “Freakin'” or Humpin'” is being misinterpreted as “Rape Dancing”. Changing the name of this dance style yet again won’t do anything to stop the dance itself from happening. It will only change young people’s attitudes and associations with the word rape, which is much more serious than two willing partners dry humping to the high hats and the bass of the beat.

On youtube.com there are two videos that accurately portray what would be called a rape dance. The first is a young, sweaty Caucasian high school student walking up to people and grinding on them. The subjects, who are repulsed, push him off of them. This is a real rape dance because there is an unwanted advance. The other “Rape Dance” is a bunch of annoying geeks shouting in cheerleader fashion “Stop! Don’t touch me there! This is my private square! R-A-P-E! Get your hands away from me!”.

There was a Brazilian song and dance called the Lambada in the 80’s that was deemed scandalous because it was a dance where partners grind bellies together. Some men killed their wives in Brazil for doing the dance with other men. While no one is killing over young people freaking on the dance floor, the outrage is still there. But youngstas have always been dirty dancing. Bobby Brown got arrested in the 80’s for gyrating with women on stage. Elvis was censored on the Ed Sullivan show in the 60’s for gyrating his pelvis by himself; they refused to include any part of him below the waist in the frame. I have a solution for people worried that “humping” will lead to rape, just as the Lambada led to murder: start teaching the Waltz and the Polka in schools again, or maybe the “Barefootin'”.

E a dança de salão é ótima para isso, porque existe uma conotação social, uma integração devido à interação entre duas pessoas”, explica Carlinhos de Jesus. “É nítido como as pessoas tímidas, depois de um certo tempo de aula conseguem ficar mais comunicativas, mais seguras, pelo fato de saberem dançar. A dança vem sendo recomendada até mesmo por psicólogos e psiquiatras, como forma de melhorar a vida social do indivíduo”, declara Beto Campos.

E o professor Beto complementa, dizendo que 99% de seus alunos procuram a dança de salão porque se sentem sozinhos. “A dança de salão afasta a solidão, pois é um meio de aproximação entre as pessoas, tanto em uma aula quanto em uma festa”, explica Beto.

Outros ritmos que podem fazer seu estilo:

• Ritmos latinos ou caribenhos - salsa dominicana, salsa cubana, roda de casino - do espanhol, rueda de casino - merengue, cha cha cha e cumbia. Inclui também coreografias de famosos, como do cantor Rick Martin, um ritmo conhecido como pop latino;
• Tradicional – tango, bolero, mambo, soltinho ou swing, fox-trot e rock dos anos 50/60

Ritmos brasileiros:

• Samba - Pagode, de gafieira, samba rock, samba no pé e samba de carnaval.
• Forró - universitário, nordestino, e pé de serra
• Lambada e Zouk;

ఈయన పేరు బాలు. మహబూబ్‌నగర్‌ జిల్లా జడ్చర్ల వద్ద పోలేపల్లి రైతు. 16 ఎకరాల ఆసామి. ప్రత్యేక ఆర్థిక మండలి కోసం తన భూమిని సేకరించడాన్ని ప్రశ్నించినందుకు ప్రభుత్వం ఇతడిని అరెస్టుచేసి జైలుకు పంపింది. అవమాన భారంతో కుంగిపోయి మరణించాడు. ఇతడే కాదు.. పాతిక మందికిపైగా రైతులు ఇలా భూసేకరణకు బలయ్యారు. రైతులను తమ పొలంలోనే కూలీలుగా మార్చేసి వారి బతుకులను ఛిద్రం చేసిన ఓ ప్రత్యేక ఆర్థిక మండలిపై న్యూస్‌టుడే ప్రత్యేక కథనంమొన్నటిదాకా 16, 17 ఎకరాల భూస్వాములు వారు. నేడు.. తమ పొలంలోనే కూలీలుగా మారిపోయారు. ప్రత్యేక ఆర్థిక మండలి (సెజ్‌) వారి భూముల్ని మింగేసింది. కొందరి ప్రాణాలను కబళించింది. ఇంకొందరి బతుకులను ఛిద్రం చేసింది. ఒకరుకాదు.. ఇద్దరు కాదు.. ఇప్పటికి 25 మందికి పైగా రైతులు ప్రాణాలు కోల్పోయారు.. నమ్ముకున్న భూమిని కోల్పోయిన బాధను తట్టుకోలేక గుండె ఆగి కొందరు చనిపోయారు. తమ సొంత భూమిలోనే కూలీలుగా మారిన అవమానభారంతో ఇంకొందరు ప్రాణాలు తీసుకున్నారు. మరికొందరు భూమిని రక్షించుకోవడానికి ప్రయత్నించారు. పోలీసులు వారిని అరెస్టు చేసి జైళ్లకు పంపారు. ఆ అవమానంతో వారిలోనూ కొందరు మంచంపట్టి చనిపోయారు. బతికున్నవారూ తాము కోల్పోయిన భూముల్లోనే కూలీలుగా పనిచేస్తూ జీవచ్ఛవాల్లా కాలం వెళ్లదీస్తున్నారు. ఇదెక్కడో మారుమూల ప్రాంతంలో జరిగింది కాదు.. రాష్ట్ర రాజధానికి దగ్గర్లోని జడ్చర్ల వద్ద చోటుచేసుకుంది. 'న్యూస్‌టుడే' ఆ ప్రాంతాన్ని సందర్శించి బాధితుల దయనీయ పరిస్థితుల్ని ప్రత్యక్షంగా చూసింది.

తెలుగుదేశం హయాంలో గ్రీన్‌పార్కు అభివృద్ధి కోసం ఆంధ్రప్రదేశ్‌ పారిశ్రామిక మౌలిక సదుపాయాల సంస్థ మహబూబ్‌నగర్‌ జిల్లా జడ్చర్ల సమీపంలోని పోలేపల్లి వద్ద భూసేకరణ చేపట్టింది. 1000 ఎకరాలు సేకరించింది. ఇక్కడ ఎలాంటి పనులు చేపట్టకపోవడంతో రైతులే తమ భూములను సాగు చేసుకుంటూ వచ్చారు. కాంగ్రెస్‌ అధికారంలోకి వచ్చాక 2005 నుంచి పరిస్థితి మారిపోయింది. రైతులు సాగు చేసుకుంటున్న భూములను సర్కారు స్వాధీనం చేసుకుంది. ఔషధ రంగానికి సంబంధించిన ప్రత్యేక ఆర్థిక మండలి కోసం కేటాయించింది. అరవిందో ఫార్మాకు 70 ఎకరాలు, హెట్రోడ్రగ్స్‌కు 80 ఎకరాలు ఇచ్చింది. కార్తీకే, మమత తదితర సంస్థలకూ భూములు కట్టబెట్టింది. ఏడాది కాలంగా నిర్మాణ పనులు జరుగుతున్నాయి. రైతులు ఆందోళన చేస్తున్నా ప్రభుత్వం పట్టించుకోలేదు. అధికారులు, పోలీసులు రంగంలోకి దిగి వారిని అణచివేశారు. రైతులకు పరిహారం అందినా.. ఇంత తక్కువ చెల్లించిన సంఘటన రాష్ట్రంలో ఎక్కడా లేదు. అసైన్డ్‌ భూమికి ఎకరాకు రూ.18 వేలు, పట్టా భూమికి రూ.30 వేలు చెల్లించారు. ఇందులో కూడా కొంత దళారుల పాలైందని రైతులు వాపోయారు.

ఒక్కొక్కరిదీ ఒక్కో గాథ
* భద్యా అనే రైతుకున్న ఐదెకరాల భూమి పోయింది. ఇది తట్టుకోలేక భార్య చనిపోతే.. అతడూ విషం మింగి ఆత్మహత్య చేసుకున్నాడు. వారి పిల్లలు ఇప్పుడెక్కన్నారో కూడా తెలియదు.
* భద్రా అనే మరో రైతుదీ ఇదే పరిస్థితి. భూమి కోల్పోయిన దిగులుతో ఒకరోజు బయటకు వెళ్లి తిరిగిరాలేదు. కుటుంబ సభ్యులు అన్ని చోట్ల గాలించారు. చివరకు బావిలో శవమై తేలాడు.
* మంగ్యా అనే రైతు విషం తాగి ఆత్మహత్య చేసుకుంటే.. భార్య తన నలుగురు పిల్లలతో తల్లితండ్రుల వద్దకు వెళ్లిపోయింది.
* పదెకరాల భూమిని కోల్పోయిన దీప్లానాయక్‌ ముగ్గురు కుమారులు కూలీలుగా మారారు.
* అధికారులు తీవ్రంగా ఒత్తిడి చేశారని, పరిహారం తీసుకోకుంటే భూములు గుంజుకొంటామని బెదిరించడంతో కోట్యానాయక్‌ అనే రైతు మరణించాడు.
* తమ భూములు స్వాధీనం చేసుకొన్న ఏడాదికే భర్త చనిపోయారని, ఇప్పుడు పిల్లలకు పనులు ఇవ్వడం లేదని ఓ మహిళ వాపోయింది.

జైలుకు పంపారన్న అవమానంతో
భూములు కోల్పోయిన రైతులు ఇటీవల ఆందోళన చేయడంతో పోలీసులు తమ ప్రతాపం చూపి 36 మందిని అరెస్టు చేసి జైలుకు పంపారు. ఈ అవమాన భారం భరించలేక కొందరు రైతులు చనిపోతే.. కొందరు ఇప్పటికీ దానిని తలుచుకుని కుమిలిపోతున్నారు. తాండాకు చెందిన బాలుకు ఉన్న 16 ఎకరాల భూమి పోయింది. ఇటీవల ఆందోళన చేసినపుడు పోలీసులు పట్టుకెళ్లారు. అవమానం భరించలేక పస్తులుండి, కుమిలిపోయి మరణించాడని ఆయన కుటుంబ సభ్యులు తెలిపారు. ఈయన కొడుకు 14 ఏళ్ల వయస్సున్న లక్ష్మణ్‌పై కూడా పోలీసులు కేసు నమోదు చేశారు.

* పోలేపల్లిలోని దళిత వాడకు చెందిన వల్లూరు బాలయ్య కూడా భూమిని కోల్పోయి, పోలీసులు కేసు పెడ్తే కోర్టు చుట్టూ తిరిగి అవమానం భరించలేక మరణించారని ఆయన కుటుంబ సభ్యులు తెలిపారు.
* నాలుగు ఎకరాల భూమి ఉంటే రెండు ఫ్యాక్టరీలకు తీసేసుకున్నారని, ఈ బాధ తట్టుకోలేక తన భార్య చనిపోయిందని పోలేపల్లికి చెందిన పెద్ద పెంటయ్య చెప్పారు. ఇటీవల ఆందోళన చేసినపుడు పోలీసులు అరెస్టు చేసి నానా ఇబ్బందులు పెట్టారన్నారు. ఎవరైనా చనిపోతే శవాన్ని పూడ్చడానికి కూడా స్థలం లేదని విలపించారు.
* భూములు కోల్పోవడంతో మరణించిన వారిలో తాండాకు చెందిన తోగ్యా, దళితవాడకు చెందిన బాలయ్య, వెంకయ్య తదితరులున్నారు.

భర్త వదిలేసి ఎక్కడికో పోయాడు!
ఉన్న భూమిని ప్రభుత్వం లాగేసుకోవడంతో భర్త తనను వదిలేసి ఎక్కడికో వెళ్లిపోయాడని నర్సమ్మ అనే మహిళ వాపోయింది. మొగిలయ్య అనే రైతుకు ఈమె కూతురు. అల్లుడిని ఇల్లరికం తెచ్చుకున్నాడు. పెళ్లయిన కొద్దిరోజులకే భూమిని ప్రభుత్వం తీసుకుంది. భూమి పోయాక ఉండలేనంటూ అల్లుడు వెళ్లిపోయాడు. నర్సమ్మ, మొగిలయ్య ఇప్పుడు తమ భూమిలోనే కూలీలుగా పని చేస్తున్నారు.

నిర్వాసితుల తరపున నిలబడి..
పోలేపల్లి గ్రామ ఉప సర్పంచ్‌ ఉపేందర్‌రెడ్డి భూమి కోల్పోలేదు. యువకుడైన ఈయన నిర్వాసితులకు అండగా నిలబడి పోరాడాడు. అరెస్టయి జైలుకెళ్లాడు. పోలీసుల చేతిలో దెబ్బలు కూడా తిన్నాడు. చివరకు అనారోగ్యం పాలై ప్రాణాలొదిలాడు.

నిన్నటి రైతులే నేటి కూలీలు
పోలేపల్లి, గుండ్లగడ్డ తాండాల్లో రెండేళ్ల క్రితం వరకు ఐదు నుంచి 25 ఎకరాల వరకు భూమిని కలిగి ఉన్న రైతులు నేడు తమ పొలాల్లోనే కూలీలుగా మారారు.
*ఉన్న మూడెన్నర ఎకరాల భూమి పోయింది.. భర్త ఏమీ చేయలేని స్థితిలో ఉన్నాడు. నాకు మూడు ఆపరేషన్లు జరిగాయి. అయినా కుటుంబాన్ని పోషించడానికి ఇక్కడే పనికి రావాల్సి వచ్చిందని బాలమ్మ అనే మహిళ వాపోయింది.

కోల్పోయిన భూముల్లో రైతులందరికీ పని దొరకడం లేదు. నడివయసు దాటిన వారికి ఔషధ సంస్థలు పనులివ్వడం లేదు. తనకు వయస్సు మీరిందంటూ తిప్పి పంపారని టోప్యా అనే నిర్వాసితుడు తెలిపారు. ఈయన భార్యను మాత్రం పనిలో పెట్టుకున్నారు. 'గతంలో పొలం దున్ని నాలుగునెలలు పనిచేస్తే ఏడాది తినేవాళ్లం. ఇప్పుడు తమ భూముల్లోనే కంపెనీల తరపున ఎండలో పెద్దపెద్దరాళ్లు మోసే పనులు చేయలేక అల్లాడుతున్నాం. మా బతుకులు చెట్లపాలు, రాళ్లపాలు అయ్యాయి' అని గ్రామస్తులు విలపిస్తున్నారు. ప్రత్యేక ఆర్థిక మండలి చేపట్టిన వారిని ఏమైనా అడిగితే.. 'మాకేమీ సంబంధం లేదు, మీ దగ్గర నుంచి ఏపీఐఐసీ తీసుకుంది. వారినడగండని సమాధానం చెబుతున్నారు' అని పలువురు వాపోయారు. ఇక్కడ కూడా కొద్దిరోజులే పని ఇస్తారని, ఫ్యాక్టరీలకు గోడలు లేచాక తమను తీసేస్తారని, అప్పుడు తమ పరిస్థితి ఏమిటో అర్థం కావడం లేదని 'న్యూస్‌టుడే'తో అన్నారు.

సీత్యానాయక్‌కు 17 ఎకరాల భూమి ఉండేది. అధికారులు భూమి తీసుకుంటామంటే ప్రత్యామ్నాయంగా భూమి ఇమ్మని ఆరునెలల పాటు అధికారుల చుట్టూ తిరిగాడు. అయినా అధికారులు పట్టించుకుకోకుండా గ్రామంలో సమావేశం పెట్టి భూమి తీసుకొంటామని ప్రకటించారు. తట్టుకోలేక సీత్యానాయక్‌ మరణించాడని ఆయన కుమారుడు కిష్ణు తెలిపాడు.

-తమకున్న 16 ఎకరాలు పోవడంతో తన భర్త సోన్యానాయక్‌ ఆవేదనతో మరణించాడని ముడావత్‌ రుక్కీ అనే మహిళ విలపించింది. ఇద్దరు పిల్లలు కూలికిపోయి వారి కుటుంబాన్ని పోషించడమే కష్టంగా మారింది. నేనెలా బతకాలని ఆమే భోరుమంటోంది.

శంకర్‌నాయక్‌కు 16 ఎకరాల భూమి పోయింది. ప్రస్తుతం రోజుకు రూ.120 కూలితో ఇక్కడే పనిచేస్తున్నానని వాపోయాడు.

17 ఎకరాలు కోల్పోయిన దిమ్సానాయక్‌ది ఇదే పరిస్థితి. కూలి చేయగా వచ్చిన డబ్బులు తిండికి మాత్రం సరిపోతున్నాయని చెప్పాడు. ఎకరాకు రూ.10వేల నుంచి రూ.16 వేల వరకు పరిహారంగా ఇచ్చారని, ఈ డబ్బుతో ఎక్కడా భూములు కొనలేని పరిస్థితిలో నిస్సహాయులుగా మిగిలిపోయామన్నారు.

మూడున్నర ఎకరాల భూమిని తీసేసుకొన్న ఏడాదికే తన భర్త నరసయ్య మరణించాడని, ఆరుగురు పిల్లలను ఎలా సాకాలో అర్థం కావడం లేదని సుక్కమ్మ అనే మహిళ ఆవేదన వ్యక్తం చేసింది.

తాను చచ్చి బతికానని ఆరు ఎకరాల భూమి కోల్పోయిన కూర్మయ్య అనే రైతు విలపించాడు. భూమి కోల్పోయిన బాధతో ఆందోళన చెంది పక్షవాతానికి గురయ్యాడు. కొన్నిరోజుల తర్వాత కోలుకుని.. ప్రస్తుతం అక్కడే కూలిగా పని చేస్తున్నాడు.

Vocês devem estar pensando que eu postei ele, para ver como o jogo fica numa 8800GT, mais na verdade foi por causa da combinação Vídeo+Música. Achei muito legal a música do vídeo, sendo que a tempos q eu a ouço, mais nunca numa versão assim xD~

I thought I would loose my mind fighting off a terrible cold and not being able to blog as usual for the past two weeks.  While recovering at home I found an old shoe box full of cassettes. Yup.  I said cassettes.  One of the cassettes really took me back.  Way back! Do any of you remember Kaoma and the Lambada craze of 1989? 

The Lambada was short lived in the United States but it is still very popular overseas in various interesting incarnations.  I have family in Holland, Portugal, Cape Verde and Curacao and they are obsessed with Zouk-Lambada.  The majority of Lambada is danced to Zouk and Kizomba music.  There is an ongoing discussion as to whether Zouk-Lambada style is a new type of dance or a natural evolution of the Lambada of the early 90's.  Zouk-Lambada today is distinguisned by style.  Style types include differences such as tempo, specific movements and stepping techniques.

Vi brukade tom leka att vi var Lili och Sussie, jag var Sussie och kompisen var Lili. Vi var ute på turné, sjöng och dansade och träffade massa snygga killar såklart..hihi. Jag kom att tänka på mig när jag såg dottern igår kväll stod och dansade och sjöng som bara den till en skiva på sitt rum, jag stod och smög på henne för hon såg så himla söt ut. Tänk om man var barn igen, inga bekymmer och kunna leva ut alla sina känslor!

Kommer ni ihåg de här låtarna då? Älskade verkligen första låten här, min mamma skickade tom in en den här låten som en önskelåt i radion när jag fyllde år :-) Kommer inte riktigt ihåg vad jag fyllde, kanske 8-9 år?

Banjaras, or Lambadas, as they are known in Andhra Pradesh, know that it is the Holi season when the red mothuka flowers bloom. Unlike city folks who restrict their celebration to a single day, Holi is a two-week-long affair for this indigenous tribe.

Беше 1990-та, тъкмо бяха "случили" палежа на Партийния дом, "Града на истината" си беше вдигнал палатките, лятната ваканция беше свършила и пак тръгнахме на училище. А една песен се чуваше от всяко дворско кафене, надънена на купената от битака уредба - "Ламбада"!

Идея си нямах коя е групата, а езика не ми говореше нищо, нито на мен, нито на съучениците ми. Португалски ли, испански ли, някой предположи, че е "бразилски". Един ден моята приятелка каза, че са й дали текста на песента. Отиваме след училище в тях - уж да пишем домашни, пък то да си препишем текста, че той е ценен и трябва да бъде върнат на собственика. Преписваме ние като монаси в средновековен манастир и внимаваме във всяка буква, че той португалския е език сложен и непонятен, току виж не препишем както трябва и отишъл коня в реката! Пишем, на португалски с кирилица:

Нататък не си спомням, но тия няколко ги помня и до ден днешен! Текста беше разпръснат сред всички в училище, предаваше се от ръка на ръка като апокриф. Преди година на една сватба един приятел даже я пя със същите думи, които ви цитирах :) А истинския текст ли?:

Така става като не знае някой езика, пее си каквото си иска. Ако се беше случил "Кен лий" тогава - никой нямаше да се смее. Английския се знаеше колкото и португалския.
Навремето всички пеехме "Шоранду сифой" и никой не стана известен от това.
Никой нямаше и да разбере! Някъде из нас трябва да се въргаля една касета - с детските ми записи - май нямам и касетофон, на който да пусна хоровото изпълнение от един рожден ден на "Ламбада". Колко е максималния брой хора, който щеше да я чуе тогава?!
Голямо нещо е знаието на езици ще знаете! А техниката и нета пък колко са големи...
Та в ония години "Кен лий" просто нямаше да се състои, струва ми се. :) Техниката ни води към прогрес, ама не си ли мултиплицираме регреса чрез тоя прогрес - е те това не ми е много ясно!

Betty (Suárez) encontra o chefe em seu apartamente que estava (no mínimo) uma bagunça. Depois de susto para cá, susto para lá e conversas. Betty diz que achava que ele estava no Rio já que mandava postais a ela dizendo que o clima estava ótimo e que tinha de ir porque era a "Lambada Time" (Hora da Lambada). E eu fiquei pensando "Hora da Lambada? Lambada?!".

 Algumas pessoas reclamam e mandam eu estudar a Tropicália e todos os movimentos musicais brasileiros do passado para dar mais valor. Mas eu não consigo aceitar essa coisa de o Brasil continuar exportando essa imagem jurássica de que nós só escutamos Bossa Nova, Samba-raiz e Lambada! Poxa, adoro Lambada, acho um ritmo muito interessante. Mas não toca mais tanto assim. O Brasil nunca vai andar para frente, não? E dentre tantos artistas bons que temos aqui, todo músico internacional que vem fazer show em terras tupiniquins, quando perguntado se conhece música brasileira sempre responde a mesma coisa: "Gilberto Gil", "Caetano Veloso", "Jorge Ben" ou "João Gilberto". Cansei de Ser Sexy ou CSS e também o Bonde do Role tem feito significativo sucesso lá fora e com exceção da Mtv ninguém fala nisso.

Hora da Lambada? As crianças nem devem saber o que é isso. A lambada mais tocada é a versão de "Chorando se foi" que a Ivete Sangalo fez e nada mais. Nem o melodicbrega que é uma mistura de música eletrônica com lambada teve ascensão ainda. Então, Betty da próxima vez usa "Samba Time", "Forró Time", "Funk Time", ou melhor, "Axé Time". Mesmo detestando toda essa bagunça por conta desta música, até um "Créu Time" eu aceitaria melhor.

Hyderabad: A surgery to treat an ailment that can be cured with antibiotics may sound far fetched, but in a small mandal of Medak district, about 70 km from here, such medical treatment is a reality.

Last Sunday, about 600 women from the ‘Lambada' tribe gathered for a meeting organised by a social organisation, to discuss their health problems. From severe back aches to depression and from chest pain to aching joints - the problems slowly tumbled out and so did the reason for their poor health - all the assembled women, some aged under 40 and many as young as 21, have undergone hysterectomy (removal of the uterus) at the advice of their local private practitioners. The drastic treatment was given to cure these women of pelvic inflammatory disease (PID), which is best treated with a course of antibiotics.

"The 600 women are from Kowdipally mandal of Medak district, and have spent an average of Rs 10,000 each on their treatment,'' says Subhash Chandra, project director of Centre for Action Research and People's Development (CARPED) that has conducted the survey among these women. Predictably, these families have run into huge debts, given that they are daily wage workers on agricultural lands. The alarming revelation, confirmed by the government doctors in the area, is just the tip of the iceberg. Health activists note that such instances are repeating themselves with an alarming frequency across the state, where private doctors are cheating illiterate villagers into taking expensive treatment that is best avoided for their condition.

CARPED conducted the survey when it found that in a small hamlet of 13 families, women from eight households had undergone hysterectomy. Alarmed, they conducted the survey in the entire mandal and calculated a spending of close to Rs 60 lakh on this medical procedure. "The local doctors they (women) consult create a fear among them that the infection (pelvic inflammatory disease) could lead to cancer and that a hysterectomy is cure for it,'' says Dr M Padma, in-charge of the primary healthcare centre (PHC) at Kowdipally. While at the PHC, they are told about how medication and maintaining hygiene would offer them relief, the patients are often in a hurry for a quick cure. And private practitioners are exploiting their impatience.

The pelvic infection among women is mainly because of home deliveries when untrained ayahs attend to them, according to Dr Padma. Nevertheless, Dr Padma maintains that none of the infections in any of the women she has also examined were cancerous or needed surgery. "At times, the doctors they consult are not gynaecologists but might perform surgery to make good money,'' says Dr C K George, director of Institute of Health Systems, a reputed health research body that deals largely with public health issues. Dr George said hysterectomy is not the treatment for PID and an operation is done only in extreme cases.
