In Gmail è stata sospesa la funzione che memorizzava in automatico tutti gli indirizzi mail della posta che ricevevamo rendendo la nostra rubrica veramente caotica e piena di "spazzatura". Ad esempio ogni volta che ho corrisposto con degli hotel per sapere se avevano posto mi sono ritrovata con i loro indirizzi in rubrica obbligandomi a cancellarli periodicamente.

In Google Docs è possibile scrivere e visualizzare i documenti in modalità fullscreen scegliendo dal menù visualizza "modalità a schermo intero" oppure cliccando ctrl-shift-F .

In questa pagina potete trovare tante scorciatoie da tastiera. Un modo comodo e veloce per lavorare con il pc.

Oltre a quella citata sopra per portare la visualizzazione a schermo intero ecco altre scorciatoie:

Sono stati implementati tantissimi "template" già pronti per i "Documenti",i "Fogli di calcolo" e le "Presentazioni".

Sono visibili tutti insieme divisi per formato e per uso.

Sempre in Google Docs è ora possibile ordinare i documenti creati in cartelle.

E' in sperimentazione una nuova pagina di iGoogle che poche persone selezionate stanno testando ma di questo ve ne avevo già parlato,non vedo l'ora di poterla usare :-)

Presto anche Gmail e Google Calendar verranno supportati da Gears quindi,come già prima di loro è stato per Google Readers e Google Docs sarà possibile utilizzarli anche se non siamo collegati ad internet. Nel momento in cui potremo collegarci le variazioni apportate durante il lavoro offline saranno implementate.

In più Gmail supporterà SyncML uno standard di sincronizzazione dati indipendente dalla piattaforma mobile che permette di gestire mail come per il Blackbarry tanto per implementare il telefono più chiacchierato di questi giorni:l'iPhone  8)

Dar să vezi - s-au învăţat băieţii de la Google să blocheze şi arhivele, în caz că conţin vreun executabil. Am rezolvat provocarea. Eu nu scriu acest articol ca să vă învăţ cum se rezolvă problema dată, vreau să vă învăţ să nu vă opriţi la piedicile puse de unii.

Soluţia la problema de mai sus e simplă - modificaţi extensia executabilului. Puteti sa o puneti txt, sau jpg, sau doc... Iar in scrisoare explicati prietenului cum sa o schimbe înapoi în exe.

"My Contacts" is a place to import, store and view all the contact information that is important. One can easily move the contacts to whom they have sent mails into "My Contacts" list. One can also create groups for his contacts so that one can send particular mail to particular group. There's also "Most Contacted" list which stores the contacts of the people with whom u have contacted most number of times.

All these new blogs will take loads of time to gain the readers which they had done in a very short amount of time. But then Blogging has been my hobby for quite sometime. Its out of my interest that i have started another blog. :) My GMail account which was 4 years old and was planning to celebrate its 4th Anniversary this october is deleted :( Now i will have to celebrate its death anniversary every year on 18th July ;).

Yo me encuentro en Archlinux, pero también he tratado de buscar el nombre equivalente a las librerías de Ubuntu aunque no las he probado, si alguno de ustedes lo confirma se lo agradecería.

• Instalación

Las librerías para Archlinux se instalan con el comando:

sudo pacman -S perl-gtk2-sexy perl-crypt-blowfish perl-crypt-simple perl-freezethaw

Las librerías para Ubuntu se deberían de instalar con el siguiente comando o buscándolas mediante synaptic (Al momento de buscarlas solo las he encontrado disponibles en Hardy Heron).

sudo apt-get install libcrypt-simple-perl libcrypt-blowfish-perl libfreezethaw-perl libsexy-dev

Puede que pida dependencias, también instalalas.
Ahora la configuración de Checkgmail te pedirá ingresar de nuev tu contraseña pero ya no aparecerá más la opción "Guardar contraseña (como texto plano)".

Dilansir melalui ZDnet, Kamis (17/7/2008), software praktis iGoogle Gmail ini memungkinkan penyatuan tampilan dari kedua produk milik Google, fitur email Goggle (Gmail) yang diletakkan tepat di bawah fitur iGoogle. Hal ini dipercaya mampu mempermudah pengguna untuk membaca, menghapus, memberi tanda spam, dan menulis sebuah email langsung dari homepage pengguna.

Tampilan baru ini tergolong cukup memudahkan kinerja pengguna Google. Pasalnya dengan penyatuan kedua fitur tersebut, pengguna dapat membaca email dan menggunakan mesin pencarian Google secara bersamaan. Selain mempermudah, software baru ini juga tergolong menghemat waktu.

Sebelumnya, untuk memasuki inbox account Gmail, pengguna harus meng-klik link Gmail. Sekarang, hal tersebut tidak perlu dilakukan lagi karena perangkat ini akan membuat seolah-olah pengguna mampu mengakses Gmail langsung dari halaman iGoogle

1. Instala el paquete subversion ejecutando en una terminal (Aplicaciones/Accesorios/Terminal):
   sudo apt-get install subversion
   Nota: Este paso es diferente para cada distribución.
2. Descarga el último paquete de Checkgmail con el comando:
   svn co https://checkgmail.svn.sourceforge.net/svnroot/checkgmail checkgmail
3. Cambia la dirección a la carpeta que se ha descargado con:
   cd checkgmail
4. Copia el binario a la carpeta /usr/bin, esto reemplazará el binario actual con el svn.
   sudo mv checkgmail /usr/bin/checkgmail
5. Da permisos de ejecución al nuevo binario con:
   sudo chmod +x /usr/bin/checkgmail

Lanza checkgmail de nuevo y prueba a conectarlo, edita las preferencias si es necesario. Ya puedes borrar la carpeta checkgmail que se ha generado en el paso 2. Gracias zeehio.

Thanks for your email, but Pardon me for having email accounts and that also on Gmail, hotmail etc websites and for being internet freak and checking my emails on regular basis and being in touch with my friends and family through them and once again thanks a lot for your email but i do not check my email to receive all this crap from you and then waste my precious time in deleting them and then sending it to my  junk mail folder. Come on get alive no one wants your cash and if you do any how have so much money keep it to your self and also keep the lottery money you want to send us in your F$#@# A$$. We are very happy without this useless money of your and the time you are using to email so many of us use that in doing something good with that same money and spend some fu$#%&g time with your family and don’t waste our time. Last but not the least fu@#$%g stops sending those email for god sake.

I was so happy with Gmail that they have a nice filter which can directly send emails to junk mail but somehow they have also stopped sending them to junk mail directly and come into the inbox. I know many of you also must be having the same problem, do u reckon there is a end to these junk mails.

Things to include:

• Use both numbers, letters, and symbols. (Example: #g%6n4x)
• Include capital and lowercase letters. (Example: QwERty)
• Substitute different symbols for letters.  (Example: Use the number '0', zero, instead of the letter 'O')
• Make a unique acronym.  (Example: "ILG" instead of "I love God.")
• Use phonetic replacements. (Example: "IOU" instead of "I owe you.")

 Things to avoid:

• Do not use an example password. 
• Do not use a password that includes personal information.  Personal information includes your name, initials, birth date, etc.  (Wrong: "Nate")
• Do not use words or acronyms that can be found in the dictionary.
• Do not use keyboard patterns. (Wrong: "qwerty")
• Do not use sequential patterns.  (Wrong: "abcd" or "1234")
• Do not make your password all numbers, all symbols, all uppercase letters, or all lowercase numbers.  You should include some of each.  (Wrong: "18536", "@*%$&", "AGJDC", or "fhbmr")
• Do not use repeating characters. (Wrong: "ffDD##55")

Tips for keeping your password secure:

• Never tell your password to anyone.  (This includes your pet parrot. :) )
• Never write your password down.
• Never send your password in an email.
• Periodically change your password.

If you follow these tips, your passwords will be reasonably safe.

The new Internet service which replaced Apple's previous .Mac service ran into more than its fair share of problems.  Users couldn't access their content, MobileMe's web applications were nonexistent and .Mac subscribers could't access the service at all.  Apple acknowledged its mistakes and issued an apology, announcing that, to compensate its customers, it would be extending members' subscriptions by one month.  While this was a positive PR decision and will surely please Apple fans, it is also hints at something which we will surely see more of as time goes on - acknowledgment of corporate responsibility.

Companies like Google, Apple, Amazon, MySpace and Facebook all provide services that people use on a daily (sometime hourly) basis.  Many people "live" on such services.  As such, companies have a responsibility to ensure that their customers will be able to find their content and have the experiences they are looking for.  Maintaining servers for millions of customers isn't easy, as Apple discovered the hard way.  However, as more and more personal content is being placed into the hands of companies, this is a technological problem that must continue to be addressed.

However, no matter how much technology evolves, no matter how diligent companies are, there will always be those occasional outages, not to mention the omnipresent threat of someone hacking into corporate servers and siphoning our personal data.  Therefore, not only are we handing over our content to companies like Google, but also our trust and as the recent Google/Viacom story has shown, that trust can easily be broken.

While I do have a MobileMe account and use an @mac.com (or I guess now @me.com) email account, I don't store that much information in the "cloud", but instead use a thumb-drive for most of my needs.  While part of the reason stems from security and stability, another, and perhaps more important part stems from accessibility.  While the great majority of computers are now connected to the Internet in some form, there are always those times when access to the Internet is limited and it's during those times that I'm glad I have my thumb-drive with me.  Sometimes I'll keep a backup of a file online using say MobileMe's iDisk feature, but I always ensure that I have a "hard copy" with me as well.

Gmail is dividing the contacts into two lists.  The first list is contacts that you specifically add, and is appropriately called, My Contacts.  The other list is called, Suggested Contacts.  This is where Gmail puts the auto-created contacts.  If you send an email to a contact five times, Gmail will automatically add an auto-created contact to the My Contacts list.

If you still want to control what goes into your contacts list, you can disable the auto-add feature.

Os usuários do serviço de webmail do Google terão mais controle sobre suas listas de contatos e sobre o preenchimento automático de endereços, anunciou a empresa nesta quinta-feira (17/07).

Antes, o Gmail adicionava automaticamente novos endereços de e-mail à lista de contatos do internauta. A função permitia que os endereços se auto-completassem na criação de novas mensagens, evitando a memorização ou consulta de endereços de e-mail.

No entanto, a função de preenchimento automático, que não podia ser desabilitada, gerava listas gigantescas de endereços, especialmente para quem enviava muitas mensagens.

Para minimizar o problema, o Google criou uma nova categoria para o Gmail, chamada "Suggested contacts", que fica logo abaixo da área "My Contacts". Os novos endereços de e-mail passam a ser armazenados na área de contatos sugeridos e, agora, o usuário deve assinalar se deseja que o Gmail inclua o novo endereço na lista de contatos.

Se o internauta deixar a decisão para o Gmail, os endereços que foram preenchidos cinco ou mais vezes são transferidos automaticamente para a lista de contatos. Setting Outlook untuk Yahoo! mail
1. Pastikan account anda adalah account yahoo lokal contoh:nama@yahoo.co.id
(penting), bukan yang yahoo.com, untuk yg yahoo.com harus ada tambahan
software sebagai gatewaynya namanya YPops.
2. Login ke Yahoo mail anda, klik ‘Opsi’ yang ada di pojok kanan atas, lalu klik ‘akses
penerusan surat’, lalu cheklist bagian ‘Akses Web & POP’, lalu klik ’simpan’.
3. Buka Outlook Express, Klik Tool -> Accounts -> Mail - lalu klik Add -> mail untuk
membuat account.
4. Masukkan nama anda, nama ini akan digunakan sebagai nama pengirim di setiap
email yg anda kirim.
5. Masukkan alamat email yahoo anda. ingat, yg .co.id bukan yang .com
6. Isi Incoming mail… dengan : pop.mail.yahoo.com
7. Isi Outgoing mail… dengan : smtp.mail.yahoo.com, klik NEXT.
8. Account Name : isi dengan Yahoo ID anda tanpa embel-embel @yahoo.co.id
(cukup yahoo ID nya saja). contoh : email address=budi@yahoo.co.id -> berarti
yahoo ID nya = budi.
9. Masukkan password yahoo anda, dan checklist bagian ‘remember password’. Klik
NEXT, dan FINISH.
10. Pilih Account yg baru saja anda buat, lalu klik properties. Pilih Tab ‘Servers’ dan
checklist bagian ‘My server requires authentication’
11. Klik OK. (Done.. )

Sekarang, coba klik Send/Receive untuk mendownload email atau men-check apakah
ada email yg masuk atau tidak.

Setting Outlook untuk Gmail :
1. Aktifkan settingan POP di Gmail anda.
2. Buka Outlook Express
3. Isi Incoming mail… dengan : pop.gmail.com
4. Isi Outgoing mail… dengan : smtp.gmail.com
5. Isi account name dengan alamat email lengkap dengan embel-embel @gmail.com
contoh : saya@gmail.com
6. Klik Tool -> Accounts -> Mail. Pilih Account anda lalu klik Properties
7. Pilih bagian Advanced.
8. Isi kolom Outgoing…(SMTP) = 465 dan checklist “This server…(SSL)”
9. Isi kolom Incoming…(POP3) = 995 dan checklist “This server…(SSL)”
10. Pilih Account yg baru saja anda buat, lalu klik properties. Pilih Tab ‘Servers’ dan
checklist bagian ‘My server requires authentication’
11. Klik OK. (Done.. )

Triste constat ce matin dans ma boite mail. Un spam franchement bien conçu m'a fait douter pas loin d'une demi seconde. L'idée est toute bête mais fait son chemin... L'attaque des spammers prend ici la forme d'une fausse confirmation d'enchère ebay portant sur un téléviseur pour le moins onéreux... Manque de chance, je n'utilise pas ma BAL gmail pour ce type de transaction... Il n'empêche que pour qui use de cette marketplace occasionnellement, la première impression éprouvée à la lecture de ce mail est déstabilisante... Bien essayé...
