Whether its for daily checks or a for a once off report this handy little script allows you to conne

Whether its for daily checks or a for a once off report this handy little script allows you to connect to as many servers as you like, query all local drives, report the capacity of the drives and the free space available. It writes all this information to a snazzy HTML file that is saved on the local disk.

This is a vbs file and uses a servers.txt (keep the txt file in the same location as the script) file as a reference for each of the servers you wish to connect to. I've tested this on up to 30 servers at a time with flawless output. This script can be run as a schedueled task and accross psexec. Just one point to note, if it is being executed from a UNC path, map the drive first or it will fail to lookup servers.txt

I use this script as a daily check to check up on all the file servers and exchange servers in the morning, combined with this Script this html file can be emailed to you or your team.

Heres an example of the html file you are finished with.

Tapi kalo file saya hilang semuanya, gimana donk? Katanya mereka bilang "Your files will stay online forever." (Semua file Anda akan online selamanya.) Bullshit!!! (Maaf agak kasar.)

Ohh! Ohh! I'm loving it. I can't think of a blog without wordpress.

Wordpress Release

Today, one of those developments comes to fruition — everyone’s free upload space has been increased 60x from 50mb to 3,000mb. To get half that much space (1GB) at our nearest competitor, Typepad, you’d pay at least $300 a year. We’re doing the same thing for free.

Our hope is that much in the same way Gmail transformed the way people think about email, we’ll give people the freedom to blog rich media without having to worry about how many kilobytes are left in their upload space.

How are we able to do this? Over the past year we’ve developed our file infrastructure, replication, backup, caching, and S3-backed storage to the point where we don’t feel like we need to artificially limit what you folks are able to upload just to keep up with growth. We’re ready for you.

What about the space upgrades? They’re still important. You still need a space upgrade to upload certain file types, like movies, and we’re also increasing the limits of the paid upgrades, so if you bought a 1GB upgrade before it now adds 5GB for no additional charge.

Here is one quick way to free up some empty space in your C Partition, or the partition where your Windows Xp is installed .....

1. Start Command prompt ( Go to Startmenu > Run: type cmd and hit Enter )

2. Type " sfc /purgecache" and hit enter (without the quotes, ofcourse!)

3. The command prompt replies after a few seconds "Windows File Protection successfully made the requested change."

That is ! You have just freed about 500+ MB of space on your Xp Partition :D

What this Command Does:

For the people who really want to know, the SFC executable is a "System File Checker" program, which Scans and verifies the versions of all protected system files after you restart your computer (part of the Windows File Protection (WPF) Feature) ). The /purgecache command purges the file cache and scans all of the protected system files immediately. It deletes backed up DLL Files in the %Systemroot%\System32\Dllcache folder. Dont worry though, it is completely safe to purge the cache.

For further details, and other parameters of the sfc program, visit here:

This week it was announced that Seven Generations will close in a month's time. This will be a huge loss to the community, especially in the abscence of another social/community space in the area. Some of the staff there want to ensure that 7G continues to serve the community andhave been discussing taking on the lease and developing the space into a wholefood cafe, bookshop and space for events and the arts. There is also the idea of using the place for skill-swapping in support of the burgeoning Freeconomy Community . They are open to any ideas and would really value your support. Please go along to an emergency meeting to be held at Seven Generations this Monday Oct 1st evening at 7.30 p.m. Please pass on this info to anyone who you might think able to help or get in touch by e-mail or phone if you can't make the meeting.

I’ve been watching the Google alert emails “Climate Camp” lately and spotted a cou

I've been watching the Google alert emails "Climate Camp" lately and spotted a couple of really quite disturbing pieces. The first appeared on a website called Spiked and the second appeared in the Guardian Online's 'Comment is Free' section, both basically making the exact same argument: that somehow those of us who protested at Drax and Heathrow are in opposition to those who are currently camped at a much less publicised protest at Gatwick Airport.

Starting right at the top, the first article can be found here. The premise seems to be that Greens oppose freedom of movement (the author has never seen me in a discussion about this issue, where I usually get really hot under the collar) while NoBorders activists are promoting some kind of fluffy freedom-to-travel situation.

Firstly, NoBorders is quite a diverse organisation, taking in three main perspectives: the voices of migrants, often deified in a weird way, and yet wrapped in cotton wool at the earliest convenience, those who simply want an end to oppressive rules that threaten the lives of those most in need, and those who, broadly speaking, want to dissolve the nation state as the breeding 'ground' of nationalist feeling, and thus counter-nationalist feeling, aka racism.

Secondly, the No Borders camp has relied on the Climate Camp for equipment, logistics and ideas throughout its process. My understanding, though I couldn't be there, is that the same compost loo structures are being recycled from Climate Camp, and that the kitchen was also at Climate Camp. And remember those huge photos being carried beneath the banner saying "we are armed... only with peer reviewed science"? Most of them are of people who will be forced to migrate if Climate Chaos ensues.

Asylum Seekers do not come here out of choice. Neither, to some extent do migrant workers; they do it because the market has reduced the options for them 'back home'. NoBorders is not about people who have made a choice to come here, not in any real way. They may have selected the UK out of a list of possible destinations, but selection and choice are two totally different things when you really think about it. To say that NoBorders is about Choice and Climate Camp is anti-choice is another matter completely.

There are so many other levels upon which this whole article is wrong. We aren't against choice at all. Free markets do not present choice, they present a predestination based upon economic wisdom and a continuously refined logic of profit that must be allowed to dictate people's decisions. Free markets only benefit from freedom of movement in two ways: by allowing the rich to move between and thus exploit multiple geographic markets at once, and by providing cheap labour that is easily abused and which will move in to take underpaid jobs in richer countries. In a sense Climate Camp is about saying that we can choose something that Capitalism does not put on the menu.

Reading this for the first time, I found myself feeling bewildered that anyone should try and claim that these two movements were somehow completely polar opposites in some way. But I did not that there was an obvious bias against environmentalists in the entire site, and that much of thinking seemed to run on the idea that unrestrained consumption somehow made us better human beings. People do not develop strength of character and deep interpersonal relationships through over consumption, they turn into spoilt brats with shallow relationships, and I think we all recognise this to some extent.

So it was with some disbelief that I found myself reading almost the exact same sentiments in a piece on the Guardian's Comment is Free site, and I have to say, I'm really sorry for the NoBorders folks if this is all the coverage they can get. The take has swung around slightly; because the non-organisation that is Climate Camp hasn't spoken out in defence of the NoBorders camp as it has come under the same sort of pressures from police and councils (if not worse) that the Climate Camp did, this is proof that Climate Campers only care about freedom of speech when it concerns them. I take this very personally and very seriously: how dare anyone claim I'm not in favour of freedom of speech?

Anyhow, this part of the article puzzles me...

It is a six-day event where pro-immigration protesters will demand "freedom of movement for all and an end to all migration controls." They will also demonstrate against the British government's penchant for building prison-like detention centres for "illegal" and "paperless" immigrants, including one inside the grounds of Gatwick airport.

Pro-immigration? True, pro-immigration to the point that people can enter this country, but not pro-immigration in the sense that we want people to be forced to flee their homes. "They will also...", no, the main point of the camp is to protest the building of a new detention center; this isn't simply a minor aside. Oh well...

"today's green ethos, which views movement around the world as toxic and immigrants as intolerable emitters of carbon"

Fuck off, no we do not. We view corporations as intolerable emitters of carbon. And holidaying is not "moving around", its taking a detour which can be just as effective at a fraction the distance. Living simply doesn't mean not traveling, it means traveling in simple ways. I could get to the far east end of Europe with nothing but a ferry ride's worth of carbon emission to show for it, if I cycled the whole way. Its interesting how blind to criticism of corporations this person is, and particularly how determined he (and she, in the previous article) is to have the reader believe that the Climate Camp was anti-consumer and not anti-corporation.

I started to read down the list of comments, and found several of them to be really quite distasteful, whether in support or against the original opinion piece. Then I started to find a few which gave the game away, and make me wonder whether the posters of earlier 'green' comments weren't really friends of the author. I refer you most specifically to the work of LobbyWatch.org, tacitly supported by George Monbiot, who I have at least some respect for, and who have written this list of the activities which Spiked and the network which runs it, LM, have gotten up to.

You see, it turns out that the group that runs Spiked (the author of the guardian piece being the editor of the website) is basically a bunch of lobbyists who believe in a kind of freedom best described as Right-Wing Libertarian. They include 'Natural Law' lovers and other weird sects that have ties in America to groups like the State Militias shown we were introduced to by Michael Moore.

These people work with Genetic Modification companies to create sob stories about protesters being against the natural advance of science, as though anti-Nuclear protesters must be opposed to the natural course of human history. They have also been involved in denying the Rwandan Genocide and accused ITN of making up their groundbreaking reportage of atrocities in Bosnia that have since become the targets of international war crimes tribunals. Some of the other articles on the website are frankly weird, with arguments that fail to hang together.

Back to the Guardian piece and I have just two things I want to pick up on. First, greens are informed by 'ideas' of scarcity. Scarcity is a much documented fact, and anyone who claims that the potential for development is endless is missing staringly obvious facts, and also highly likely to approach development of other people's lands in a way which imposes western values on indigenous populations. Second, that to say ClimateCamp represents the middle-classes taking it out on the poor is a completely stupid suggestion. LM and Spiked are not people from the working classes, they are established business people who want all controls on their activity removing. They believe that we are more human if economic activity is unrestrained, if money rules our lives.

People can be in both camps. To allow people to migrate for economic reasons is to recognise that their weren't enough resources where they were before, and to allow them to migrate for humanitarian reasons is to accept that people are being abused and that this is a serious situation. To imply that environmentalists are somehow small minded to fail to understand the sheer scale of the threat facing humanity and to equate wealth with happiness. These people who wish to divide the two movements are not allies of the NoBorders movement, and they are not representatives of the working classes, but are instead the beneficiaries of all that is wrong with unfettered capitalism, and we must challenge them wherever they raise their heads.

Sometimes I get really downbeat about the lack of people across the world who are standing up to oppression. Its happened a lot lately, especially because there's hardly anything going on in the UK now the summer is over, and most of the opportunities that do exist right now for doing political actions are being missed. Given I'm part of the human race and should by now know its tendency to be ever-resistant of repression, its weird how it takes me until there's a few random news stories here and there before I actually remember that somewhere, as ever, someone is resisting.

When I say that there's little going on in the UK, note the totally unresponsive millions affected by the sudden rise in student loan interest as it has switched to a different method of calculating inflation, and you'll see what I mean (this could add serious years to people's loan repayments). 2006 saw a sudden upward bump in the amount of resistance going on in the UK, with thousands taking to the streets nationwide, both locally and in an impressive Emergency National Demo in London (we're talking the Lebanon crises) followed by the first Climate Camp, and rounded off with at least 2 major marches in London and the beginnings of Faslane 365.

This year, we've got a Climate March, a Stop the War march which isn't even on a Saturday, a national day of action that many groups seem determined to remain deaf towards and not much else. Even the NoBorders camp, which is taking place now, seems a bit of downer. Now, this may be the after effects of having witnessed an Earth-shatteringly amazing mobilisation in the summer, but it still kind of sucks to see so little coming out of it.

But Britain is only one country, and very often the activity isn't going on in our country. Sometimes it doesn't look a lot like the action some of us are used to, like in Taiwan where there's been a major protest of over 100,000 people (in a territory China wants to claim is its own) pressing their own government to carry out a referendum that the government already wants to carry out. To some, this might seem a bit of a waste of time, but this is no ordinary referendum; this is Taiwan deciding whether or not it wants to represent itself at the United Nations, separate of the authoritarian nation that claims sovereignty as the only group of people capable of representing Taiwan's needs.

For all the faults of the UN, when a nation decides to make a move towards independence against a nation the size and strength of China, we owe them respect, and we probably also owe them some support. These people are marching for a tiny step towards some vague notion of freedom which I could easily dismiss, yet in the face of one of the world's most dangerous super-powers, this is perhaps as brave as Alaska declaring independence and taking its oil fields with it. For all I could disagree with them, I wish them every success and hope they succeed in some real way.

Then we have Burma, where Buddhist monks are standing up to a regime more interested in playing with its water cannons than accepting that the time for such blatant forms of dictatorship is over. In a culture and a conflict I have little understanding of, here are a bunch of monks, religious people like myself, making a stand. The BBC reports that they marched in silence (never seen how this is empowering), but that they fought back when attacked (which could raise a whole other debate). Yahoo managed to report on the situation by day three (Thursday)

For the first time in nearly 20 years, the people of Burma are finding strength, they're on the march, and it may only be a matter of time before they finally claim a victory, which may not last all that long (representative democracy is only a partial solution to dictatorship, leaving space plenty of room for elites to dominate just as effectively, if over shorter periods of time), but here democracy of a sort is rising and people are doing something. I find this inspiring, despite my cynicism over the possibilities for success either at a basic or a deep-down level. Again, good luck to them.

There are other places where struggles are taking place that we do not hear about. These are struggles in which people are fighting for their lives, yet their lives are not worth the time of day for news agencies and media outlets to report. That doesn't mean they're not there.

But amidst all the quiet here in the UK, there's one campaign which has really caught my eye, and continues to do so. The more I learn and see of it, the more impressed I am with the spirit of the campaign, and how deeply rooted in culture and community it seems to be. In a way, I just guess I'm glad no political party has got its hands on the campaign. I'm talking about the campaign to free Krek and Mers which I wrote about a few days ago.

I've now seen photos of the "Skate and Graf Jam", and I'm left wondering why the hell anyone still thinks marches are a good idea in this country: it was colourful, youthful and by all accounts exciting. T-shirts have sold out (and thankfully look nothing like the Stop the War ones which are getting so predictable). I'm inspired by the creativity, the freshness and the heartfelt determination to stand up to injustice that is being taken up across the UK, and even the world it seems, mostly by people with no idea of how to write to their MP or whatever.

And its been particularly exciting to see where the debate has swung on the Facebook group, with someone actually raising the issue of crimes against property being different to crimes against people, and some interesting historical analysis (and trust the activist to start using jargon!). Maybe, somewhere below all the apathy and the quite short-sighted politics going on in Britain there really is still a desire for justice, democracy and liberty.
