Originally, I was going to do my "normal list" for Aug/Sept and for Oct/Nov and so on and so forth but before I knew it August had come and gone and then came September and it past by too and now it is October so, I am scrapping that idea. As you can probably tell by the title, my new idea is now upcoming movies for the whole Fall/Winter (this entails Aug 08-March 09). Sorry about that.

Wedding Peach: Season 1 Collection (Re-release) - 675 minutes - $39.98 - 12/9/2008

I might go for the Area 88 thinpak if I haven't already bought the artbox and singles by then. I've also been wondering about Nadia. That might be worth Netflixing first. I've heard little to nothing about the quality of Neo Ranga, but I'd be willing to give it a shot.

If we could only get ADV to release an Aura Battler Dunbine thinpak and a complete Mazinkaiser set similar to their recent re-release of Devil Hunter Yohko, it'd make me one happy otaku.

I’ve just seen someone give a beggar woman some money outside Aldi. Nothing unusual in that yo

I've just seen someone give a beggar woman some money outside Aldi. Nothing unusual in that you might think - except this lady gave the beggar 10 euros. She might as well have just led her into Aldi and let her pick whatever alcohol she liked for that! It's probably have been cheaper. And don't tell me that's not what the money's going to be spent on. I saw this woman remember, and she's definitely a booze and cigarettes type of beggar.

So the boyfriend is insisting that the pieces of pig I saw in Karstadt yesterday were not penises but in fact tails. Yeah, whatever. I mean, he could be right. Schwanz does officially mean tail after all, but it is a slang word for penis (the German equivalent of cock I suppose) and I know what I saw! It was the shape that made me look at them in the first place and they were certainly not like any tail I've ever seen. Anyway, aren't pigs tails curly? These things were far from curly. Yup, they were definitely penises... or possibly penii. Anyone know what the plural of penis actually is?

Anyway, none of that was what I actually wanted to write about.
What I really wanted to do was write my to do list. You see I have sooo much that needs sorting this weekend and left to my own devices I know I'll spend half of it in bed (I'm ill remember) and the other half reading blogs. So I thought if I publish it on the internet for the entire world to see I might actually shame myself into getting everything done. Well, maybe not everything. Most things.... or at least some of it. So here for your viewing pleasure, is my to do list. (Oh the endless excitement that is my life).

♦ Laundry - is there ever a time that I don't need to do laundry? It seems to be the never ending chore. I've actually managed to get two washing appointments tonight - the first of which is in half an hour. Woo, soon I'll be able to cross off the first item on my list.

♦ Take out the rubbish - my bin is so full it's practically overflowing! Ooh, and that reminds me, I really need to buy binliners as well. I've been using Aldi carrier bags as replacements for the last three months!

♦ Sort out my desk - it seriously looks like a bomb's hit it. God only knows what's buried under all the random pieces of paper, birthday cards (Yes I am aware my birthday was nearly 2 months ago...) and randomly coloured ball point pens. Maybe I'll find treasure under there... or at least a couple of euros to go towards next weeks shopping.

♦ Send some emails - I am a terrible, evil awful friend. I spend 99% of my evenings on the internet but fail to send a single email, ever. It's so much easier to just write comments on people's Facebook walls then spend the rest of my time reading, writing and just generally being obsessed by the blogosphere. I do have a couple of friends who aren't on Facebook though and I really, really need to get in touch with thembefore they realise how long it's been since I last sent an email.

♦ Buy a birthday present - my friend is 25 on Monday. I have no idea what to get her! I mean, I say she's my friend but really I don't know her that well. I do just happen to be one of the few people she knows in Germany though. And she bought me a present once. Anyone have any good gift ideas?

♦ Do my assignment for Text Linguistics - it's actually supposed to be due today, but nobody else has done it. And anyway, he only said around 10th October. And I'm not well. I really should do it though - it doesn't seem right to fall behind in the very first week!

♦ Check out the prices of flights to England in December - for once we're going to try and book them before they get stupidly expensive. I'm probably the only peron in the world who's had to pay 160 euros for a Ryanair flight from Dublin to Newcastle...

OK, that'll do. If I give myself too many tasks I'll only get overwhelmed and end up too stressed to get anything done... well, that's my excuse anyway ;-)
Now if anyone out there is actually still awake feel free to go and reward yourself with a piece of cake and some caffeine.

I'm chatting with Lala right now and I just started feeling mushy and sad. I just miss her and Madz so much. I guess the closer December comes (when they both come home), the more I miss them.

Lala has been gone a really, really, really long time. And it's weird because we became closer after she left. I guess it's because we started talking more. When she was back here, we rarely caught each other online. Now we practically have a schedule (after eating dinner, I excuse myself for my 'Melbourne Date' as I like to call it.) every weeknight. From 8:30-9pm (Philippines time) until 10-10:30pm is my 'Lala time'. I feel incomplete if we miss a night. And my favorite words to read from her are 'wala ako pasok sa ____' ('I don't have work on ____'). I know it means she won't earn money then, but I'm really selfish, so...

I was just telling Lala that I actually have this physical pain in my chest because of how much I miss them. I guess I'm really that type of person who needs her friends close by. Creepy, I know. But that's just me.

I can't wait for December. This year, I'm not only looking forward to that month because of Christmas, but also because 2 of my most important friends are coming back home.

Waaaaah! I want to stop feeling mushy, like, NOW!

Ford announced earlier this winter that it would delay the launch of its ultra-important F-150 full-

Ford announced earlier this winter that it would delay the launch of its ultra-important F-150 full-size truck by a few months to help dealers clear out left over 2008 inventory.

For the record, the new truck's launch was originally scheduled for October before being moved to December. Finally, Ford has split the difference and will begin marketing its F-150 in November.

Jim Farley, main marketer at the Blue Oval, cites two main reasons for the revised decision. One: its dealerships culled their old supply faster than anticipated, and two: Dodge just launched its new-for-'09 Ram. Ford obviously doesn't want its cross-town rival to steal all its thunder.

Expectations for the new F-150 seem appropriately timid. Current market conditions, including the relatively high price of fuel and the difficulty in securing credit, mean the the days of Ford selling a million trucks a year are over. Still, there is a large market left of users who depend on their trucks for work, and Ford's targeting them. We'll see how it goes beginning next month.

I went to the church this evening to attend the last mass celebrated there every Sunday. As I walk through the street going to the church, I felt the cool breeze brought about by the “ber” month. Then, I told myself that Christmas is really just around the corner.

In the other part of the world maybe winter has just started. I remember my friend Marianne who now stays in France, once told me that during winter, she and her husband enjoy staying at home while having some cookie and coffee by their gas fire. She said that its one of her favorite spots in their house for she and her husband really like talking and sharing thoughts with each other.

My godmother who once spent a vacation in London said that she enjoyed her designer Electric fires which gave her comfort during winter. She said that her fire place really fits her style and taste in designing her house. She told me how she love sitting near it which gives her a relaxing feeling as she stares the snow falls through her window.

I love to see snow also though we really don’t have winter here. But there is this place in my country which I love going to. It’s Baguio. It’s a plateau located in the northern part of the Philippines, which is also known as the Summer capital of the country. As ney and I plan our trip to Baguio sometime in January next year, we’d like to stay in a house that has a hole in the wall fires setup in it. Though we don’t actually have winter here, staying in Baguio during the December up to the first quarter of the year will really requires a fire place to keep you warm from the cool weather. I am really looking forward to it! :)

A 'jury of his peers' (which contained exactly zero African Americans) found O.J. Simpson guilty Friday of all 12 counts in the armed robbery of two sports memorabilia dealers at a Las Vegas, Nevada, casino hotel last year.
::: maybe they define 'peer' differently out there in Vegas ... :::

Simpson, 61, and his co-defendant Clarence "C.J." Stewart, 54, were charged with a dozen offenses stemming from the sports memorabilia heist. Stewart was found guilty of the same charges as Simpson.

The two men could spend the rest of their lives in prison. Clark County District Judge Jackie Glass set sentencing for December 5.

If you weren't sure what to get them for Christmas before - now you know.

I think I’m beginning to enlist more recruits for this upcoming literary soirée. I believe I

I think I'm beginning to enlist more recruits for this upcoming literary soirée. I believe I've hustled at least two more friends into joining me in the self-flagellation that will ensue starting in November. Initially I was inducted with the premise of being "emotional" support for someone else, as in he didn't want to be the only person he knew "enduring" it. As he put it, "Stringing other people along will definately help with the ol' motivation". Which I agree probably will help a whole hell of a lot. However now that certain select cronies of mine have tentatively agreed upon giving it a shot the thing I'm most looking forward to is getting a chance to seeing what it is they create. People have told me, at times, I seem to have a way with words. This is exactly how I feel about my friends. A few of them have that gift and it will be fantastic to get to see it put to work.

Back on the subject of motivation, when signing up as an author on the NaNoWriMo I recieved their Welcoming email. It had love in the subject, which is always nice. Inside the email was your basic rigmarole of set up information for the site and community but near the bottom they included "A quick overview of the three-and-a-half things we wish we had known for our first NaNoWriMo", which not only being incredibly helpful and reassuring was also very amusing.

1) It's okay to not know what you're doing. Really. You've read a lot of novels, so you're completely up to the challenge of writing one. If you feel more comfortable outlining your story ahead of time, do so. But it's also fine to just wing it. Write every day, and a book-worthy story will appear, even if you're not sure what that story might be right now.

2) Do not edit as you go. Editing is for December. Think of November as an experiment in pure output. Even if it's hard at first, leave ugly prose and poorly written passages on the page to be cleaned up later. Your inner editor will be very grumpy about this, but your inner editor is a nitpicky jerk who foolishly believes that it is possible to write a brilliant first draft if you write it slowly enough. It isn't. Every book you've ever loved started out as a beautifully flawed first draft. In November, embrace imperfection and see where it takes you.

3) Tell everyone you know that you're writing a novel in November. This will pay big dividends in Week Two, when the only thing keeping you from quitting is the fear of looking pathetic in front of all the people who've had to hear about your novel for the past month. Seriously. Email them now about your awesome new book. The looming specter of personal humiliation is a very reliable muse.

3.5) There will be times you'll want to quit during November. This is okay. Everyone who wins NaNoWriMo wanted to quit at some point in November. Stick it out. See it through. Week Two can be hard. Week Three is much better. Week Four will make you want to yodel.

And we're talking the good kind of yodeling here.

With great well wishes on the noveling month ahead,

The NaNoWriMo Team

I'm particularly a fan of step #3. "The looming specter of personal humiliation is a very reliable muse". Because this is something I do with almost any challenge I try to take on, whether it be exercising, studying or in this case writing a novel. Self motivation is a hard thing, and its much easier to motivate yourself when you don't want to look bad. This of course is not the most ideal approach. I mean, we're not supposed to care what other people think right? Its-my-own-damn-life-I-can-do-what-I-want type stuff. Which is completely true, don't get me wrong, I just think an alternative option could also be just sticking to your guns and standing by your word. Instead of trying to do others proud, why not do it for yourself? (this can be hard!) For me its certainly not as easy as it sounds. I can justify almost anything, and quitting things that are difficult is one of the easiest to justify. Positive support however does help me greatly, so throughout the month of November I may be looking for just that. Anything to keep me going and reaching that goal.

The more involved I become with this whole endeavor and community the more I feel comfortable and almost at home. The sense of humor, styles and way of looking at the world just seem to click for me. I may have found a NaNoWriMo group here in at UH-Hilo which would be great because then we could host Write-Ins and have NaNoWriMos Anonymous support groups once week two hits. I'm also really looking forward to meeting other like minds willing to attempt this. I figure it takes a special kind of person to get excited at the prospect of writing anything, let alone a 50,000 word novel. I want to meet those people.

This will be a better fit for him as I always root for quality over quantity.

"The luxury that Eminem and Dr. Dre have now, I'll soon have. I'll only be putting out music when I have a masterpiece ready... those guys are ready to put out their masterpieces very soon. Eminem's album is going to blow people away... Like him, I'll only be coming back when people miss me."
