En esta ocasión, la señorita Lucía Alvarado, de profesión actriz y también conocida como una de las modelos de la postal de este mes del ciclo, nos recomienda cinco obras de teatro, actualmente en cartel.

TOP 5 :: OBRAS DE TEATRO por LUCÍA ALVARADO

1. LA PESCA de Ricardo Bartíz

Calle Beláustegui entre Oroño y Seguí, a metros de la Avenida J. B. Justo. Una vieja fábrica cuyos subsuelos lindan con el entubamiento del arroyo Maldonado. Las constantes filtraciones inundan los sótanos convirtiéndolos en piletones de hasta tres metros de altura.
Durante los años '60, la fábrica abandonada se convirtió en lugar de reunión y juego de los chicos del barrio. Transformados éstos en "muchachos" tienen la ocurrencia de traer mojarras, bagres y renacuajos, capturadas en los lagos de Palermo, y plantarlas en los "estanques".
En 1969 fundan la Gesta Heroica, "club de pesca bajo techo, garantizando por una módica cuota, un par de horas de pique sostenido, en un clima familiar, aún en días de lluvia". A principios de los '70 viajan al sur de Entre Ríos y traen las primeras camadas de tarariras.
ños más tarde, al bajar las aguas, queda sólo un pequeño charco. A comienzos de los '80, los muchachos -ya hombres-, abandonan definitivamente la Gesta Heroica. Las tarariras sobrevivientes, degeneradas por la ingesta contaminante, viven en el charco y en los caños adyacentes, devorándose entre sí. Comienza ahí el mito de las "tarariras titán".

2. LA NOCHE CANTA SUS CANCIONES de Jon Fosse

Él no quiere salir, ella no puede confinarse a quedarse en el apartamento que comparte con él y su bebe recién nacido.
Él es un escritor fracasado, ella una empleada de licencia por maternidad, que encuentra cada vez más difícil cómo justificar su relación con él.

3. LA PARANOIA de Rafael Spregelburd

Las inteligencias mantienen el equilibrio del cosmos. Es un enorme esfuerzo, el de las inteligencias. El cosmos es vasto y lleno de inexactitudes. ¿Y qué aporta nuestra pobre Tierra a todo esto? 4. LAS MUJERES DE LOS NAZIS de Héctor Levy-Daniel

Tres piezas que son elaboraciones ficcionales de hechos y personajes que existieron en la realidad: Magda Goebbels tuvo un amante judío antes de convertirse en la primera dama del Tercer Reich; Irma Grese fue ayudante de Mengele en Auschwitz y fue ejecutada por el verdugo Albert Pierrepoint; Geli Raubal fue el gran amor de Hitler.

5. LÚCIDO de Rafael Spregelburd

De niños, una hermana dona un riñón a su hermano agonizante. Ambos sobreviven, pero a un costo enorme. Pocas familias conocen orden más disfuncional que ésta.
Años más tarde, la hermana vuelve de Miami y reclama lo que es suyo.
De más está decir que la negociación es pesadillesca, y que toda lucidez es esporádica. Habrá que encontrar un orden allí donde no lo hay.

Every four years, the global community of astrologers does its best to predict the outcome of the U.S. presidential election. Given that astrology can be as much a mantic art as it is a science, and that astrologers are as subject to political prejudices the same as anyone else, the results are sometimes mixed. Often the most interesting information gleaned from an astrological analysis of an election is not who will win, but a description of conditions surrounding the winning.

For example, in 2000, a number of astrologers clearly foresaw the uncertainty and "irregularities" surrounding the electoral process. Jim Shawvan, a San Diego astrologer, published the following on the astrological web site StarIQ.com:

“The election may be so close in some states that it may be several days before the actual electoral college votes can be tallied with accuracy. This could involve the counting of absentee ballots, and possible charges of fraud or irregularities in some places. As of election night, it may look very much like a Bush victory, but uncertainty may develop as the count goes on.”—Jim Shawyan

There were other notable hits. Astrologer Jacob Schwartz of Philadelphia predicted a long delay in the electoral decision, a situation not usually anticipated in a typical election. Uncannily, he also predicted that Gore would win the popular vote, yet still lose the election. Astrologically, the biggest factor behind these predictions was a profoundly screwed-up Mercury, the planet associated with communication, information processing, and, by extension, voting machines.

In 2008, astrologers are again energetically analyzing the astrological charts of the presumptive candidates, John McCain and Barack Obama. A big impediment has been the lack of reliable birth times for all of the candidates, but there is a bigger problem. This year, something doesn't seem right. No one feels good about the astrological conditions on election day, nor the conditions on inauguration day. There is a shadow looming over the charts.

Konamis Pro Evolution Soccer 2008 kann auch auf der Wii überzeugen. Sieht auf meinem HD-Fernseher zwar sch.... aus, aber das muss man akzeptieren. Niemals hatte man mehr Kontrolle über seine virtuellen Fussballkicker. Mit Platz 10 bin ich zufrieden... Fifa 08 ist weit vom Schuss...

But as with any hyped trend, there's the risk of oversupply -- with data visualization, the main risk is an excess of shoddy or pointless infographics that actually hinder understanding. Like using Excel's chart wizard without tweaking the god-awful presets.

And then there's GraphJam (“pop culture for people in cubicles”). The site is a raging parody of data visualization's current popularity -- GraphJam treats inforgraphics as jokes. Here's a typical example, complete with cute typo in the title:

I especially love that this graph actually made me look up the lyrics to the song. It would have been absolutely perfect if the label for the red line had read "Pink champagne on ice."

That is one "symptom" that has gotten much worse over the years. Sounds have really become a problem for me so much I cannot be in the room even with earplugs when my husband vacuums. I have to be much farther away or it sets my poor nerves on fire that doesn't quit for hours!

Alles alte Bekannte? Nicht ganz, auf Platz 5 befindet sich mit Ikaruga nämlich ein Xbox-Live-Titel. Während Xboxfront hier 83% vergibt sind es bei Gamingmedia sogar stolze 90%. Da muss was dran sein, leider habe ich den Titel noch nicht selbst spielen können.

Ganz frisch in den Charts, da erst seit dem 26.06.08 erhältlich ist Battlefield Bad Company gelandet. Alle 5 Wertungen liegen im 80er Bereich. Neben einer coolen Story um 4 Soldaten im Goldrausch bietet der Titel eine fast komplett zerstörbare Umgebung. Und das ist mal richtig cool. STOCKS ALWAYS PEAK BEFORE THE ECONOMY ... Every time I show the Sector Rotation Model in Chart 6 I feel the need to point out that the stock market (red line) peaks well before the economy (green line). Although most of us are aware that the stock market is a leading indicator of the economy, that point keeps getting lost on Wall Street and the media. Ever since the market peaked last fall, the media has presented a parade of economists arguing that the economy was still on sound footing. I remember seeing a headline "fear versus fundamentals" back in January (that was repeated again this week on CNBC). The implication being that the market was falling on "fear" instead of "fundamentals". With the stock market having had one of the worst first halfs in decades, we're now getting confirmation that the economy is in bad shape. It's a little late for that to do anybody any good. That's why we study the market and pretty much ignore the media and Wall Street economists. They're always behind the curve at important tops because they insist on following the green line in Chart 6. We follow the red line which has been falling for nine months.
