Lama tak duduk dengan mereka. Hampir setahun, tapi sangat lama kerinduan kurasa.

Banyak yang tak lagi duduk ditempatnya, digantikan oleh semangat-semangat muda, teringat hijauku dulu.

Wajah-wajah sinar-sinar, ada haru terasa, gemuruh dalam dada, apa lagi ketika "I" membacakan Al-baqarah 184, menyambut datangnya bulan suci penuh rahmat.

"I", saya pernah menganggap remeh padanya. paranoid. "I", wajah-wajah sinar-sinar, dia memilikinya.

Lupakan "I", dia jauh melampauiku. Saatnya melanjutkan yang pernah kumulai dan kutinggalkan, terserak dalam dada.

Ya...Allah Engkau lebih mengetahui apa yang kubutuhkan, bahkan sebelum aku berpikir tentang kebutuhanku. Mudahkan untukku Ya..Rabb...

God tells us to be holy, like he is holy. How do I do that!?! He knows I'm going to sin, but he wants me to keep my focus, my "eyes" on him. Being holy means being set apart, so my conduct should set me apart from those who don't know Christ. But I am not holy due to my own goodness; I am holy because I was called by God and I answered yes.

When I typed in "holy" in my online dictionary, here are a few of the definitions that came back:

specially recognized as or declared sacred; consecrated
dedicated or devoted to the service of God, the church, or religion
saintly; godly; pious; devout
having a spiritually pure quality
a place of worship; sacred place; sanctuary

All of the above definitions can be applied to us as believers: we have been consecrated by God; we should be devoted to the service of God; we should seek to be like Christ (Godly); we have been cleansed by the blood of Christ so we should seek to remain spiritually pure; God lives in us, so we are his sanctuary. Salvation is not brought about by good works, it is only by trusting in Christ that we are saved. And being holy is not because of how spectacularly wonderful we are; being holy is completely dependent upon our relationship with Christ.

Lord, help me be holy as you have called me to be. Let my thoughts, words, and actions reflect YOU.

how to apply cracks

Here are a few steps you might find usefull when finding a crack:

1. Scan whatever you d/l for trojans or viruses.
2. If you find that there are two cracks in a zip, check the date 'cause most of the time the oldest is a trojan.
3. When it's called: "crack.exe" beware and read the .nfo first 'cause that might be a trojan and the serial is in the .nfo.
4. Once you have extracted something, scan it again to make sure.
5. When you read the .nfo, there is normally the explanation how to apply: the crack/patch/cracked.exe/keygen or serial.
.nfo's can be opened with notepad
6. You can rename everything, except a cracked.exe
7. When you apply a crack or registrate a serial, try to disconnect from the internet so you'll know if it phones home to check or not.

When you want to apply any of the 5 different methods do it as follows:

a) Crack or Patch:

1. Make sure that the program is closed and doesn't startup with Windows.
2. Disconnect from the internet (this doesn't allways work).
3. If there is an option to create a backup then make sure you take it, so if something goes wrong you can just roll back to the earlier state.
4. Browse to the program directory or place the crack into that directory and click ok or apply(Doubleclick the crack and/or press "apply crack").
5. Restart your pc and you're done.

B) Cracked.exe:

1. Whatever you d/l read the .nfo so you'll know if you're dealing with a crack or cracked.exe.
2. There could be multiple cracked.exe files you have to apply, so if there are three beware of the trojans. Again check the date.
3. Close the program that needs to be cracked before you do anything else.
4. Disconnect from the internet.
5. If you're not sure the one you have to replace with the cracked.exe is the correct one, then it's best that you move the original to another folder first so they are not overwritten. If something goes wrong you can just place them back.
6. Move or copy the Cracked.exe to whatever directory is stated in the .nfo.
7. Restart your pc and you're done.

c) Keygens or Serials:

1. Scan it for trojans again.
2. Doubleclick the keygen and hit generate.
3. Copy the serial it generates and minimize the keygen.
4. Disconnect from the internet (this doesn't allways work).
5. Install or open the program and search for the "About"-tab and look for something to registrate and open the menu.
6. Paste or type in the serial and registrate the program.
7. Restart your pc and you're done.

US support to military blamed for political instability

Mumtaz Khan, vice-chairman IKA and organizer UKNPN, met Director Freedom House South Asia in Washington D.C and briefed him about the current situation in Pakistan and Azad Kashmir. The Freedom House senior research fellow expressed serious concerns about the political crisis and growing extremism, terrorism in Pakistan and violence in Indian-administered Kashmir that seem to be the synchronized renewed efforts from Pakistan military establishment to display that military will not give up their longstanding political agenda, says a press release issued by Mr Khan.
During the meeting, Mr Khan said as long as military and ISI remain beyond the civil government's control and US relied on the military to fight terrorism, political stability and threat of terrorism will increase in Pakistan. Because past 50 years record of Pakistan military establishment shows that they have always attempted to undermine civilian institutions and discredit the political leadership through its security agencies, and in which they have been successful not internally but also externally by convincing the US and the West that military is the only force that can serve the western interests. As a result, successive US and Western governments have encouraged military rule in Pakistan and weakened political forces and process which ultimately give rise to undemocratic and religious forces.
After 9/11, Pakistan's military regime had got the opportunity to put the country back on a moderate path by eradicating the real threats of extremism and terrorism emanating from Pakistan. But Musharraf regime used this opportunity skillfully to please the US on the one hand and save Taliban on the other that reflects the longstanding design of encouraging political instability in its neighbors.
The effort to save extremist Taliban reflect that military remains convinced that after withdrawal of NATO forces in Afghanistan, Pakistan can use the Taliban and extremist forces to reverse the political course in that country and regain its lost control there. The current insurgency of fundamentalist forces in FATA shows the capability and strength of these elements and failure of NATO as Taliban can't challenge NATO forces without the support of the government. The shared threat and interests posed by these forces of extremism demands coordinated efforts from the international community to put pressure on Pakistani agencies to stop nurturing the fundamentalist forces. The meeting of all extremist groups in Rawalpindi last month and their announcement to launch joint attacks on NATO forces, which was reported by the Pakistani media, could not have taken place without the clandestine support from secret agencies. Recent US allegations against the ISI about supporting Taliban have endorsed the longstanding claims of US media that the military was supporting extremists in Kashmir and FATA to make the US and the West believe that only military can fight terrorism and extremism. But past eight years of military rule in Pakistan is ample proof of its failure in addressing the threat of extremism.
Mr Khan said growing violence in Indian administered Kashmir showed this changing military strategy to increase pressure on civilian government to squeeze political space for any initiative with India regarding the CBMs to show that without military no government can improve relations with India. The US need to make it clear whether it wants to strengthen the military or the civilian government in Pakistan

Multi Operating System

Kadang-kadang kita membutuhkan beberapa sistem operasi di komputer kita. Misalnya, satu sistem operasi digunakan khusus untuk bermain game dan yang satu lagi digunakan untuk aplikasi kantoran, editing video atau gambar, dan lain-lain.

Sebenarnya, apa tujuan dari penggunaan multi operating system ini? Tujuannya adalah agar satu sistem tidak mengganggu sistem yang lainnya. Misalnya jika kita menginstal suatu aplikasi server seperti PHPTriad atau SQL Server, aplikasi ini menjalankan services yang dijalankan di background process yang tentu saja memakan memori. Walaupun sedikit memakan memori, tapi apa yang terjadi apabila dalam suatu sistem operasi kita memiliki Microsoft Office, Adobe Photoshop, ditambah dengan antivirus yang setiap saat melakukan scan memory? Tentu saja komputer akan menjadi lambat dan akan mengganggu pekerjaan kita.

Saya sendiri di komputer rumah memiliki tiga sistem operasi:

1. Microsoft Windows XP Professional SP2: sistem operasi ini digunakan untuk kegiatan multimedia, game dan aplikasi Office, dan ini adalah sistem operasi utama.

2. Microsoft Windows XP Professional SP2: kalau yang ini digunakan untuk pemograman dan database.

3. Microsoft Windows Millenium Edition: yang ini merupakan cadangan apabila tiba-tiba yang lainnya hang.

Setiap OS tentu saja harus dalam partisi yang berbeda. Misalnya, saya memiliki partisi:

C: yang diisi oleh OS XP untuk multimedia (NTFS);

D: untuk data (NTFS);

E; untuk data (NTFS);

F: untuk data (NTFS);

*C: diisi oleh OS XP untuk pemograman (NTFS);

WINME: diisi oleh OS Windoes ME (FAT32);

Pada saat C: yang di-boot, otomatis drive *C: dan WINME: akan berubah statusnya menjadi hidden, karena jika tidak hidden maka komputer akan booting dengan 2 sistem operasi dan itu mustahil, sehingga otomatis komputer akan meng-hidden-kan OS yang tidak diset default. Drive D:, E:, F: terbaca sebagai extended drive dari drive C:, alias drive tambahan yang bisa difungsikan untuk menyimpan data.

Tetapi ketika saya booting dari drive *C: yang berisi XP, drive tersebut akan berubah menjadi drive C: secara otomatis. Ini dikarenakan OS XP harus di boot melalui drive yang C dan tidak bisa drive lain. Drive D:, E:, dan F: pun disini terbaca sebagai extended drive dari drive C:.

Pada saat booting dengan drive WINME yang berisi WinMe, drive yang lainnya berubah menjadi hidden sehingga tidak bisa di jelajahi. Entah karena Win Me tidak bisa membaca NTFS atau karena apa.

Tapi untuk kebutuhan menjelajahi drive yang di hidden, Partition Magic telah menyediakan Drive Explorer

Masalah yang sering terjadi apabila memiliki multi os adalah ketika booting. Kadang sistem operasi yang baru diinstal tidak bisa kita boot atau malah sistem yang lama yang tidak bisa booting. Maka dari itu, dalam setiap sistem operasi saya memiliki aplikasi PartitionMagic. Untuk XP saya memakai versi 8 dan ME memakai versi 7. Dalam PartitionMagic 8 (PM8) terdapat tools yang bernama PQBoot. Tools ini sangat berguna untuk memilih sistem operasi yang akan dijalankan setelah me-restart komputer. Lain halnya dengan PartitionMagic 7 (PM7). PM7 memiliki tools yang bernama BootMagic.

BootMagic adalah sebuah aplikasi yang sangat berguna sebagai boot manager. Sebelum menggunakannya, harus dikonfigurasi dahulu seperti meng-enabled-kan BootMagic, memilih sistem operasi yang akan ditampilkan ketika kita booting, sistem operasi default, dan lama waktu pemilihan sistem operasi (timeout). Kelebihan BootMagic daripada PQBoot adalah BootMagic dijalankan sebelum masuk sistem operasi, sedangkan PQBoot dijalankan setelah masuk sistem operasi. Tentu saja jika memilih sistem operasi setelah masuk sistem operasi, maka kita harus me-restart kembali komputer kita.

Kelemahan dari multi os sendiri adalah kita tidak bisa menggunakan aplikasi yang kadang dibutuhkan pada waktu yang sama. Misalnya, di os yang pertama ada Photoshop dan di os yang kedua ada Visual Basic untuk pemograman. Ketika mendesain sebuah tombol, mungkin kita perlu image editor seperti Photoshop dan terpaksa harus pindah os dengan cara restart pc. Tentu saja hal itu sangat membuang waktu. Kemudian masalah antivirus. Kita tidak bisa meninggalkan antivirus, karena sangat berbahaya apabila terinfeksi. Dengan kata lain, setiap os harus mempunyai antivirus dan itu akan menghabiskan ruang di harddisk.

Kesimpulannya, penggunaan multi os memang tidak mutlak harus dilakukan, tetapi sesuai kebutuhan. Jika memang pc anda speknya rendah dan ingin menginstal segala aplikasi dan tidak ingin kinerja aplikasi lain terganggu, tidak ada salahnya mencoba multi os. Tetapi jika komputer anda memiliki spek yang tinggi dan dapat meng-handle semua aplikasi, mungkin lebih baik cukup dengan satu sistem operasi saja.

Runon kertoja on herännyt unesta ja sairaudesta. Hän makaa toipilasvuoteella, mutta tietää parantuneensa. Elämä on alkamassa, aurinko paistaa ikkunasta huoneeseen. Häntä valmistetaan isänsä -- Jumalan -- valtakunnan perilliseksi. Se ei aina ole helppoa.

Evoluzione del rapporto uomo-gatto e suo comportamento

L’addomesticamento del gatto risale al 1600 - 1500 a.C.; furono gli antichi egizi ad accogliere per primi il gatto nelle loro abitazioni, apprezzandone la sua abilità di cacciatore di roditori che infestavano i granai.
Presso questo popolo il gatto veniva venerato come un dio, tanto che la sua uccisione era punita con la morte, e quando il gatto moriva era sepolto con tutti gli onori.
Successivamente il gatto come animale da compagnia si diffuse in Medio Oriente, in India, in Cina e verso l’anno 1000 a.C. in Europa.
Qui la sua popolarita' conobbe periodi buoni, alternati a periodi di vera e propria persecuzione, perche' identificato con il diavolo.
Oggi il numero dei gatti allevati dall’uomo per compagnia e' in continuo aumento, il gatto e' sempre piu' popolare, proprio per le sue caratteristiche. E’, infatti, un animale pulito, riservato, affettuoso, ma indipendente, con una forte personalita' , facilmente gestibile in casa, si adatta meglio del cane alla vita indaffarata di oggi, e' un gran giocherellone, e non dimentichiamolo, non ha ancora perso la peculiarità che lo ha reso così popolare: l’abilità nella caccia di piccoli roditori.
Il gatto ha fama di essere un animale poco sociale, ma la frequentazione con l’uomo ha migliorato le sue capacità di interazione con gli altri gatti e con il proprietario.Per cui si possono vedere colonie di gatti vivere in ambienti ristretti come un appartamento, anche se questo contrasta un po’ con le sue abitudini sociali. Infatti, il gatto e' un animale territoriale, il territorio del gatto e' formato da zone collegate tra loro, i cui confini sono definiti da marche odorose (feromoni), e da segnali visivi (graffi). In queste zone e' tollerata la presenza di altri gatti e dell’uomo, fatta eccezione per una zona detta core, adibita a luogo per la toeletta e il riposo, e usata per il parto e l’allevamento dei cuccioli dalle femmine, che di solito non è condivisa.
Questa suddivisione del territorio non è sempre rispettata dall’uomo, che cancella le marche odorose e invade la zona riservata del gatto, o lo obbliga a impossibili convivenze con altri consimili, scatenando a volte reazioni aggressive che dipendono proprio dall’organizzazione irrazionale del territorio.
Il gatto non ha una struttura di tipo gerarchico come il cane, per cui non e' possibile sottometterlo. Quando il gatto si mette con la pancia all’aria, nella tipica posizione del cane sottomesso, non vuole comunicare questo, bensì si sta preparando ad attaccare, ed e' anche molto infuriato, per cui e' meglio non avvicinarsi.
La società felina e' una societa' matriarcale, con gruppi di femmine che vivono assieme, dedicandosi alla crescita dei gattini.
Un’altra caratteristica del comportamento del gatto e' la sua ambivalenza, cioe' la sua facilita' a passare da un comportamento da coccolone, che prende le carezze dal proprietario, a uno di insofferenza con fuga e tentativi di aggressione verso l’uomo.

Per questo motivo e' consigliabile non insistere troppo con le coccole, interrompendole prima che il gatto mostri segni di nervosismo (muove la coda in modo ritmico, si sottrae alle carezze, soffia, diventa teso).
Anche se la convivenza con l’uomo ha smussato gli spigoli del carattere del gatto, si e' osservato che il 15% dei gatti nati in famiglia rimangono sempre un po’ "selvatici", con scarsa propensione a socializzare con l’uomo. Inoltre i gattini nati da madri che non sono ben socializzate hanno dei problemi, perche' sono svezzati precocemente da queste ultime. Un buon test per valutare il grado di socialita' di un cucciolo e' quello di sollevarlo per la collottola, se il gattino assume la posizione fetale significa che il rapporto con la madre e' stato buono, viceversa se il gattino si irrigidisce, e miagola, si deve sospettare che abbia avuto dei problemi di socializzazione, che potranno presentarsi anche in eta' adulta. Bisogna prestare molta attenzione alla valutazione del comportamento del gattino trovatello, allevato in giovanissima eta' (25-30 giorni) dall’uomo, perche' mancando il rapporto con la madre vengono meno tutti gli insegnamenti di quest’ultima, e le correzioni dei comportamenti indesiderati, in particolare quelli aggressivi, che la gatta blocca con colpetti con il muso o leggere graffiate.

دوچرخه را از خانه عمویم بر می دارم.تقریبا هر روز.سوار مترو می شوم و ایستگاهی پیاده می شوم.بدون اینکه بدانم کجا هستم.بدون اینکه بخواهم مسیر توریستی خاصی را دنبال کنم ،توی کوچه ها وخیابان ها می چرخم.کنار کانال می نشینم. هنوز موزه ها را ندیده ام.متنفرم از این جور مسافرت با لیست موزه ها در یک دست.مسافرتی که همیشه ما ایرانی ها بهش محکومیم.چون نمی دانیم بار بعد که بتوانیم این کشور را ببینیم کی است مسافرتمان تبدیل می شود به ماراتون موزه ها.. موزه نمی بینم. نیامده ام اینجا برای این کار.بین مردم می چرخم و همه اش به شماها فکر می کنم.به همه چیز.به خودم توی ایران که فکر می کردم اروپا جای تمیز و متمدنی است.که تویش اینهمه تبعیض نیست... که وقتی برسم اینجا ازادم.که مشکلات اینجا معنایی را که توی ایران داشتند ندارند.اره اینجا می توانی خوب زندگی کنی.اما باید چشم هایت را ببندی روی این همه فقر و تبعیض.می توانی پول در بیاوری حتی.درس بخوانی ...اما اگر بخواهی به ازادی ادم ها فکر کنی.به برابری ادم ها فکر کنی زندگی اینجا داغانت می کند.می دانم یکهفته کافی نیست برای شناختن یک فرهنگ....می دانم.اما یک چیز هایی هست که همان اول توی ذوق ادم می زند.که نمی توانی نبینیشان.نشنویشان وتبعیض توی هلند یکی از این هاست.اصلا این ویژگی ساختار های اجتماعی چنین است.که تو را شهروند دسته دو نگه می دارد.که تو حق خواستن چیزی را هم حتی برای خودت قائل نمی شوی. با چند نفری صحبت کردم که همه شان سال ها اینجا بوده اند.

- اینجا می توانی هر چه که دلت خواست بگویی.هر چه که دلت خواست بنویسی...

- خوب حالا شما چی نوشته اید؟ چی گفته اید توی این همه سالی که اینجا بوده اید؟

- خوب هیچ چیز اما من با زنم ازادم که دستش را بگیرم.ببوسمش توی خیابان...

- خوب این کار ها را که من هم توی خیابان توی ایران می کردم.به جز بوسیدن زنتان چه ازادی اجتماعی دارید؟

بله اینجا می توانی هر چه می خواهی بگویی.هر چه می خواهی بنویسی.اما وقتی برای داشتن یک زندگی نرمال باید مثل برده جان بکنی،جانی برایت نمی ماند که بنویسی...که بخوانی.( من راجع به الیت اجتماعی حرف نمی زنم.بله! مثلا یرواند ابراهامیان این امر در موردش صادق است.اما چه تعداد ما ادم هایی از این دست داریم از جاهن سوم که اینجا می شوند یرواند ابراهامیان؟)

سیستم از تو برده می سازد.اگر می خواهی راحت زندگی کنی دهنت را ببند کارت را بکن. نه اینکه تو اعتراض کنی بکشندت نه! اما تو اعتراض نمی کنی.سرمایه داری رامت می کند.می شوی برده.حالش را نداری اعتراض کنی.داری تا خرخره قسط می دهی.

من فکر نمی کنم سرکوب اینجا کمتر باشد.نوع سرکوب است که فرق دارد.نوع سرکوب خیلی پنهان تر از جامعه هایی مثل مال ماست.

همه این ها توی سرم می چرخد.

Sobotnie przedpołudnie jest czasem wytchnienia i odpoczynku. W każdym razie dla mnie. Tak szczerze, to wolałbym teraz przemieszczać się samochodem po Podlasiu obserwując nadchodząca jesień, ale cóż… Siedzę przed komputerem i kontempluje wirtualną eko-architekturę. Na świecie pojawiają się bowiem samowystarczalne miasta. W Chinach powstaje Habitat 2020 – miasto przyszłości, którego zewnętrzne ściany potrafią absorbować wodę, powietrze, słońce. Niczym ludzka lub zwierzęca skóra.

Dzięki temu budynek jest samowystarczalny już nie tylko energetycznie. Twórcy postrzegają zarówno poszczególny budynek jak i całe miasto jako dynamiczny i ciągle rozwijający się system. Habitat 2020 to również połączenie najnowocześniejszej elektroniki i rozwiązań bio-chemicznych, które pokrywają zewnętrzną powłokę budynków. Do tej pory zewnętrzne powłoki były materiałami konstrukcyjnymi, a także chroniły budynki przed czynnikami zewnętrznymi.

W mieście Habitat 2020 budynki będą miały „żywą skórę” – specjalnie zaprojektowane membrany zewnętrzne. Będę one pełnić funkcję ściany i jednocześnie absorbować naturalne czynniki, takie jak powietrze, wodę, światło, i przekazywać je do wnętrza budynku.

Przeglądałem rano ceny mieszkań w stolicy. Wyraźnie spada ‘wielka płyta’ i ‘rama H’. Reszta stoi. Dopiero recesja coś ruszy?

I like babies. I really do. I like the little cooing noises they make, I like their chubby little limbs, I like how they smell after a bath and the way they love you unconditionally. I think babies are the sweetest, purest little things you can ever have in your life.

I am now enjoying the early weeks of my 3rd baby - a beautiful little girl who is a joy. BUT - why, oh why, does she have to jobby so much. I mean it's like several kilos a day and the SMELL is something that will haunt my nostrils forever. I mean all she eats is milk for God's sake. Milk. It's white and liquid. How can it go through her and come out looking like devil sick. They should have a UN inspector invesitgating THAT chemical weapon.

A leading suspect wanted over the Philippines' worst militant attack has been arrested in Bahrain and returned to Manila, officials have said.

Ruben Pestano Lavilla Jr, 35, is wanted for alleged involvement in the bombing of a ferry in Manila Bay in 2004 that led to 116 deaths in a subsequent fire.

He was the "brains" behind an Islamic group allied to two al-Qaeda affiliated organizations, Manila officials say.

They say he was detected after document checks by Manila's embassy in Bahrain.

The arrest had not been made public while Philippine officials prepared deportation papers.

'Fled' country

Marcelino Libanan, head of the immigration commission, told Reuters news agency that Mr Lavilla was checked after trying to get a bank loan and had been working as an interpreter at the Philippine embassy.

However, Justice Undersecretary Ricardo Blancaflor told the AP agency that the arrest came after Mr Lavilla submitted documents for a job at the embassy.

Mr Lavilla is alleged to have fled the Philippines a month after the ferry attack.

He is accused of being the mastermind behind the Rajah Solaiman Movement, blamed for several bomb attacks in Manila in 2004 and 2005.

The movement is said to be linked to the Jemaah Islamiyah and Abu Sayyaf Muslim militant groups, based in the southern Philippines.

Mr Blancaflor said: "If you are a terrorist, wherever you are, wherever you hide, the law will catch up with you - that's the most important thing here."

The ferry blaze was South East Asia's second-worst militant attack after the 2002 bombings in Bali, Indonesia, that killed 202 people.

The 10,000-tonne Superferry 14 was heading for Bacolod in the central Philippines when it caught fire on 27 February 2004.

Italy to seal Libya colonial deal

Mr Berlusconi is making his second trip to Libya since June

Italy is to provide billions of dollars to Libya as part of a deal to resolve colonial-era disputes, Italian PM Silvio Berlusconi has announced.

At least $5bn will go to help Libyan infrastructure projects over the next 25 years.

Mr Berlusconi is in the port of Benghazi to meet Libyan leader Col Muammar Gaddafi and seal a bilateral friendship and cooperation accord.

Libya was occupied by Italy in 1911 before becoming a colony in the 1930s.

It became independent in 1951.

Motorway

Mr Berlusconi said: "The accord will provide for $200m a year over the next 25 years through investments in infrastructure projects in Libya."

The main project will be a coastal motorway between the Egyptian and Tunisian borders.

There will also be a colonial-era mine clearing project.

The Italian leader had earlier said he wanted the agreement to "turn the page on the past".

Rome and Tripoli have spent years arguing over compensation for the colonial period.

Libya has accused Italy of killing thousands of its citizens and expelling thousands more from their homes in three decades of occupation.

Mr Berlusconi's trip is his second since June when illegal immigration from Africa to Europe was the key issue of talks.

Italy has been swamped by thousands of African migrants trying to reach its shores by boat.

Libya has come in from the diplomatic cold since 2003 when it abandoned efforts to acquire weapons of mass destruction.

Next week, US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice is scheduled to make the first high-ranking American visit to Libya since 1953.
