The company's triple-core Phenom X3 8000 series processors provide an option to mainstream PC buyers who don't want to spend on a quad-core processor but are looking for more performance than a dual-core processor, said Pat Moorhead, vice president of advanced marketing at AMD.

The chips could be used for high-definition video playback, casual mainstream gaming and productivity applications, Moorhead said.

The company's first triple-core processors include the Phenom X3 8400, which runs at 2.1GHz, and the Phenom X3 8600, which runs at 2.3GHz. Both will come with 1.5MB of L2 cache and 2MB of L3 cache.

AMD also launched three Phenom quad-core processors on Thursday — the Phenom X4 9750, which runs at 2.4Ghz; the Phenom X4 9850, which runs at 2.5GHz; and the Phenom 9100e, a low-voltage quad-core processor that runs at 1.8GHz and has a 65-watt power envelope during maximum usage. All the processors contain 2MB of L2 cache and 2MB of L3 cache.

PC makers will ship products with the quad-core processors in the second quarter, AMD said.

The triple-core processors are already shipping in volume to PC makers, AMD said. U.S. vendor ZT Systems will list PCs with the new triple-core Phenoms on Monday, with other "major OEMs" and system vendors shipping products next quarter, AMD said. Many major vendors, including Dell and Hewlett-Packard, have already hinted at including the processors in desktops.

Dell has listed plans to use the chip in its OptiPlex 740 business desktop systems. It will ship the triple-core OptiPlex in the second quarter, a company spokeswoman recently said, but she declined to specify which processor will run the desktop. Hewlett-Packard has also listed a desktop on its Bulgarian-language Web site with AMD's Phenom Triple-Core 8600B processor.

Mesh Computer, a PC vendor in the U.K., is offering the Matrix XXX Plus desktop with the Phenom X3 8400 processor and the Matrix XXX Pro desktop with the Phenom 8600 processor.

Because the triple-core chip is a new concept--set between the widely accepted dual- and quad-cores--it's unclear how it will fit in the market, said Dean McCarron, founder and principal at Mercury Research.

"You're going to get a performance enhancement with the extra core above and beyond a dual-core," McCarron said. But it also falls shy of a quad-core.

AMD designed the triple-core as a way to produce a cheaper chip. The triple-core processor is built on a quad-core CPU, with one core nonfunctional, McCarron said.

The triple-core chip gives AMD a tactical advantage over Intel, McCarron said. Intel will need to answer the triple-core chip with a product priced in the same range while delivering similar performance. Intel can take a dual-core or quad-core processor, adjust features like cache, and price it similar to AMD's triple-core processor, McCarron said.

Ще разкажа сега някои от скорошните бисери на моя малък син, който е в тази „бисерна" възраст на четири годишните.

Влиза снощи в кухнята с едно разкъсано писмо от Мобилтел, изважда отвътре сметката, възторжено ми я подава и казва:

- Станах богат! :D

А пък един от любимите му изрази, който вмъква много умело, когато разказва случка, е:

- И стана нещо невероятно! - ама чак гласът му потреперва от тази невероятност.

Подозирам, че го е попил от мен, защото аз понякога така се изразявам.

Снощи четем Огнивото (на Андерсен) и там войника щели да го бесят. Но Анди за първи път я чува тази дума и ми казва:

- И мен Дади искаше да ме меси (Дади е брат му - Давид).

- Как искаше да те меси?

- С брашно.

Казал му, че ще го омеси на палачинка. Но аз докато загрея, че става въпрос за бесенето... Обясних му, че това е да вържат някого на въже и да го оставят да виси. А пък огнивото го представих за кибрит. Да си кажа честно, и аз не знам как изглежда това огниво, ама като трябваше да обясня...

А най-интересно е това, че малкият ми син смята, че от ЛЕГО може да се направи всичко. И не просто от ЛЕГО, а от частите, които ние имаме. И като се почне:

- Трябва да направим телевизионната кула, ама същата! (Същата като истинската. А кулите и вентилаторите са най-голямата му страст.)

- Ами, направи я.

- Не, трябва ти да ми помогнеш!

Аз трябваше да направя онова разширение с прозорците - под върха. А той - останалото. Това не беше толкова трудно, но на другия ден ми обясни, че трябвало да направим КОСМОСА от ЛЕГО :mrgreen: Добре, че „космосът" се оказа един космически кораб, а не целият космос, че иначе лошо ми се пишеше...

П.П. Вчера блогът ми стана точно на три месеца и завърши деня с точно 8000 посещения!

И още нещо, което не мога да не споделя - ето това! (Аз нямам нищо общо с него, освен, че го харесвам!)

So you just bought a training video and popped it into your computer. You click on the menu in the autoplay dialog and it opens up Firefox, your default browser. Now you are staring at a blank screen.
What now?

The problem is most likely because you don't have the Windows Media

Player plugin installed for Firefox, so all we need to do is install it.

Note that you'll usually have the same problem anytime you try and view video files in FIrefox using Windows Media format, such as .wmv files.

Installation

Just download and run the plugin installer linked below. You'll probably want to close Firefox during the installation.

Verifying Plugin Installation

After running through the very quick installation wizard, you might be curious if the installation actually worked. While the easiest method is to just open a Windows Media video, you can also type the following into the address bar to see the list of loaded plugins:

about:plugins

And you should see the Windows Media Player plugin in the list. You can also see which file types Firefox will use the plugin on.

And now I can view this Windows Media format video file in Firefox…

Technical Notes

In case you have any issues with this installer, you might want to take a look at this list to help with your troubleshooting:

• The WMP plugin uses the IE Proxy settings, not the ones in Firefox.
  This is because the plugin itself is only a thin wrapper around Windows
  Media Player, which always uses IE internally to fetch data.
• The plugin files are installed to the "C:\Program Files\Mozilla
  Firefox\plugins" directory by default, and the file name is
  np-mswmp.dll. If the uninstaller fails to remove this file for whatever
  reason you can manually delete it.
• You could also theoretically copy the same .dll file into the
  plugins directory on any Firefox installation and it should work
  without running the installer.

Sé que si las comparamos con todas las que llevan otros blogs parecen pocas, pero para mí es un record el haber llegado y superado esta barrera.

Ahora se me plantea la duda de que si cada visita que he tenido fuese un ladrillo que les hubiese quitado a los corruptos, ¿qué podría hacer con tantos ladrillos?

Había pensado también cambiar la imagen del blog a cuenta de las 8.000 visitas pero como que no me termina de convencer ninguna de las otras plantillas de wordpress, así que de momento seguiré con la misma a menos que un día me de la inspiración o cambie de idea, y me decida por otros formatos de presentación para el blog.

Ahora ya sí, me quedo tranqui, lo siento por los rollos que suelto pero es que cuando me da por escribir venadillas me vienen todas seguidas..
